A great lodge and close to the Park. Staff were kind, helpful and always remembered us. They had monkeys and mini deer about the property. The flowering trees were beautiful. If the clouds lifted there was a great view of Kilimanjaro.

A brilliant lodge, highly recommended. The rooms were spacious, well equipped. The gardens were immaculate and very beautiful with an abundance of wildlife in them. The bar had a great range of drinks at friendly prices and always served well. All of the meals, breakfast, lunch and dinner always had a large variety and always of a high standard, with a choice of eating inside or outside. All of the staff were friendly and efficient and could have a smile and laugh with them. I wish we could have spent another couple of nights with you as it was a really special stay. Many thanks

Absolutely wonderful stay here. A lovely lodge, with great views - when the clouds part - of Kilimanjaro. Staff could not be more professional, friendly and helpful. Food range and quality was excellent. Hemingway bar is a great place for a drink with a view. The game drive was excellent - Wilson managed to find lions resting by the water, in addition to cheetas, hyenas and other wonderful wildlife. I shall be returning.

The setting is beautiful with incredible views of Kilimanjaro. The staff are really really lovely, from front desk to restaurant to porters - they really all deserve all the praise. What lets this hotel down is the accommodation. Sadly it feels as though no money has ever been put back into the rooms. They are extremely dated, shabby and not at all comfortable. This is not a budget hotel so please put some money back into the accommodation and you could offer a 5 star experience. Compliments to the staff though!

We just finished our second stay at Amboseli Sopa. We stayed last year in Feb and now in Nov. and we really enjoyed our stay. The reception greeting is great with hot towels and drinks. Sam, the Maasai Warrior, greets you warmly and we told him we are back again. They quickly check you in and take your bags to your room. The rooms are individual bungalows that are decent size and has all the amenities you need. The shower water is very hot all day and water pressure is good. The rooms were clean and felt comfortable. The rooms are very quiet and we never heard other guests. We enjoyed the food. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are buffet and the service is excellent. Everyone is so helpful and friendly. Each meal Mercy greeted us and knew our room number. She was so pleasant to talk to. We liked the food a lot it was a lot of choices and was fresh. The dining area is very clean and has perfect views of Mt Kilamanjaro. We went to our room to get our bags and the porters just showed up out of nowhere to take our bags to the front. I don’t know how they knew we were leaving but I was impressed. The grounds are nice with wildlife all around including very crafty monkeys. The whole lodge had a rustic charm to it. It’s about 20 min drive to the park entrance and didn’t feel excessive or out of the way. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and we know we will be back again. I think any negative reviews are based on unreasonable expectations for being in the African bush. I felt Sopa wen above and beyond for our stay.
