  In 2.5 weeks of kenya, the worst stay, by far. The location is really amazing. Unfortunately the owner literally destroys all the magic of the place. We came with a driver, they treated him so badly, they did not want to give him a room, so he paid the same price as foreigners for a dirty tent (according to our Kenyan driver/standards) without water or electricity. Our tent was ok, but the water inside was literally brown (it's from the river.. . Could not be used to wash hands or teeth, They sell water though). It's a bush camp, so it's ok to have less comfort, I'm totally fine with that. The owner was extremely arrogant, know it all, bragging, was permanently drunk (or under drugs, or I have no idea..) he was also so loud in the night we could barely sleep. Food was pasta and the cheapest you can find, and little quantities. The 3 local staff were really kind. But Unfortunately the atmosphere was so bad due to owner. He almost screamed at paying clients and driver. Just rude like hell. They also refused to provide the last lunch (in Kenya, all accommodation do offer lunch to pack if you pay full board. Owner said they cooked the day before, and we should pay again). I assume the good reviews are when the owner is not here, or when he is sober? Elephant come through camp which is nice, location is nice.. But when one guy destroys the all the atmosphere and magic for everyone on the camp. It just not worth it. How can you treat customers like this, and people in general? Our driver/guide went to most lodges in the national parks. He was really shocked (how bad the guy was, how he was treated, how he behaved) We felt also really terrible for our guide.

  Great, authentic, intimate camp in a fantastic location on the river. Close to the animal hot spots and away from the bigger, busier camps. Really friendly staff, lovely home cooked food.

  Nahim was an excellent host and offered us to sleep with our rooftop tent in his camp right on the river, where elephants are drinking during day and night (and therefore pass through the camp). The camp is well organized, has clean tents and facilities and we enjoyed very tasty food. It’s not so easy to find but Google maps helps. Many thanks again, we would love to come back!

  Nature at its best! 4 tents only, super private, best food! And when the big male elephant walked through the camp just infront of us pur hearts stopped beating. I love the open air bathroom.

  Beautiful safari camp, rustic with elegant and comfortable touches and super delicious food. The owner Naheem is a character and a half with a million stories and a je n' est quo attitude. Food is rustic yet super, served family and they were completely accommodating to our very restrictive dietary needs ...we enjoyed our meals, especially the special à samburu goat bbq and fresh goat liver the last night...which we happily paid extra for. Staff is tight but they get the job done...We had 3 tents among the 4 of us, hubby and Had an extremely comfortable queen sized bed in a heavy duty canvas tent....one drawback was the tents did' t lock the monkeys got into 2 of our 3 tents, ripping up an empty thermal bag that smelled of food and they ran off with some.cipro antibiotics from my cousins tent as well as eating his throat lozenges. Those tents need a locking system. We had a riverside view and two hammocks ...our outdoor shower was delightful with a marine shower that was filled with hot water on request, and it.was wonderful after a dusty game drive. Another highlight are the animals and birds that visit Lion King Bush camp. HUMBLE the old male elephant who munched his way thru camp on at least two out of the three days we were there and lots of cute albeit mischievous monkeys...
