  Wow! An amazing escape location. Great service and great food too. The staff was super friendly and professional, catering to all our needs. The owners are truly amazing people! The island experience is excellent; the beachfront is clean and unadulterated. Just a fantastic location to relax. The beach dinner was fantastic, and the sundowner cocktails and homemade crisps were to die for!!! Great job!! We shall definitely be back!

  Unfortunately I did not get the chance to stay here. HOWEVER, we arrived on a boat at their beach and one of the crew dislocated their shoulder, Sean/Shaun, and Nardis were extremely helpful and took him to a local doctor to help in their speedboat. They were extremely kind and we are really greatful for their help. We then stuck around a little and they will be beginning yoga courses soon and have a beautiful hotel! It will definitely be the place to go when we come back. Thanks very much guys

  We had a wonderful stay at The Cabanas in Lamu. From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly attentive and thoughtful, making us feel completely at ease throughout our stay. One of the highlights was the dining experience, we could choose our mealtimes, every meal was absolutely delicious, freshly prepared, and beautifully presented. It felt very personal and relaxed. We were lucky enough to receive an upgrade, our room was great. The space was big and comfortable, and the view was stunning. The hotel itself is wonderfully quiet and peaceful. On one evening we had dinner on the beach as a two to celebrate our honeymoon. If you’re looking for a tranquil, intimate place to stay in Lamu with exceptional service, The Cabanas is a great choice.

  We spent two unforgettable weeks at The Cabanas Lamu, and it truly is an absolute paradise. This place strikes a perfect balance between tranquility and luxury—secluded, yet a quick and beautiful boat ride from the Lamu airport. It’s filled with thoughtful details that make every moment special. Mornings began with incredible coffee overlooking a pristine beach, long walks or paddle boarding, and afternoons often ended at the pool perched on top of the dunes, offering epic views of the ocean and sunset. The team’s attention to detail and genuine hospitality made the stay even more memorable. From kiteboarding lessons and dhow sailing to spotting dolphins just offshore or on a sunset boat trip, every experience felt magical. With the new beachfront pool and bar being built during our stay, this already exceptional spot will become even more amazing. We can’t wait to return!
