  Great hotel in Shela, quiet and low key but only a few mins walk to cafes and beautiful shops. About 15 walk to great swimming spots. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. We had a lovely swinging day bed to relax on looking over the water. Liz, Boniface and the team were great hosts. Can't wait to go back. Lamu is very peaceful and safe.

  Kinjani is a bubble where everything gently returns to its place. It captures the true spirit of Lamu: light breezes, swahili furniture, few beautifully curated rooms. It is a form of quiet elegance, where beauty, comfort and tailored service flow naturally. The food is delicious (the curries are unforgettable), enjoyed on a cozy terrace that feels like home. Staff offers genuine kindness and Elisabeth, the manager, has an ability to make things happen effortlessly. And yes, if you’re a bit “too Western” to surrender to island time, the team reads you, gently suggesting ordering ahead so waiting remains part of the pleasure, not a frustration.

  While visiting Lamu, although we didn't stay at this property, hubby and I enjoyed a breakfast at the Kijani Hotel's Rooftop Restaurant. An incredible view of the waterfront! Coffee was delightful as was the breakfast! Good assortment on the menu, fresh fruit plates, smoothies, and traditional breakfast fare like pancakes, waffles, omelets, etc. The staff were courteous and friendly and service was timely. Our server observed me dripping wet from sweat and without any requests brought over a fan! So considerate! Highly recommend this place for breakfast.

  I stayed at this hotel unexpectedly during Lamu Yoga festival after a problem with a booking at another hotel. Wow, am I glad that happened! I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel, I was in room 2, which is at the front of the hotel. No AC but didn’t find that a problem due to a well placed fan and lovely seabreeze. The food at the restaurant is very good, delicious breakfast with a decent amount of choices, Enjoyed lunches and a dinner there too, and they are happy to bring it to your room? Best thing was the staff, especially Tito, the manager who couldn’t have been more helpful. I’ve booked for next Easter and can’t wait to go back with my son this time!

  Had an amazing dinner. The staff were welcoming and their services are amazing. I had their fish curry and naan (recommended by Charles). That was the best fish curry I’ve ever had hands up!!. A 20/10 experience.
