  Beautiful property with very central location. The rooms themselves are basic but the hangout areas have nice views to the sea. Friendly staff and great value for money with lovely breakfast included. While not their fault the call to prayer is extremely loud there so perhaps be prepared with earplugs!

  I HIGHLY RECOMMEND for all the budget travellers or not haha. The house is always clean and rooms cleaned at your request. Samuel(the house manager) made amazing breakfast (it's bnb) and even sometimes lunch at one's request (extra charge) . He was always willing to help out and treated everyone with the utmost respect and care. He even packed me food on my last day so I wouldn't travel hungry😭. A perfect place for solo travellers to mingle, interact especially during breakfast. Perfect for families and friends too. The rooftop is amazing. House is less than 2 minute walk to the beach and 5 or less minute walk to many amazing restaurants. My 6 night stay was nothing short of magical and even cried when I was leaving. I definitely intend on staying there again .

  A budget-friendly accommodation with a beautiful rooftop view. Good basic breakfast, friendly and amazing staff( thank you, Tom and Sam) Good location, just a few meters to the beach. My two nights stay ended up being a week stay 😅, I would gladly stay in Shela White again while in Lamu.

  Baraka the house keeper is great. He assists with practically everything logistics. He will advise on what to do while in the area, where to get food, etc. He is super! The house is also close to the beach. Less than 3 minutes walk. Improvement areas: they can do a better job with the cleanliness of the place. It is a beautiful house that needs a lot done interms of keeping it. My bathroom kept blocking and I believe it could also be cleaner and more well kept. I did enjoy my stay here but could have been better if the place were cleaner.

  Really good value for money for Shela. Nice rooms, amazing spacious Lamu beds on two levels of terraces with nice views and breeze. It is located about 2 minutes walk to the beach. It has no restaurant (they provide breakfast though) but there are both very cheap local restaurants as well as fine dining restaurants 1 or 2 minutes away. The hosts were nice and helpful. PS: The swimming pool is located is the sister Janaatan hotel, about 5 minutes away.
