  While we didn't stay at the hotel, we ate at the restaurant during our visit to Lamu. The food and service were wonderful! Great quality and value! We walked around thr property and it is beautifully set up with a very nice pool and pool area. The location on the waterfront is also ideal for taking in the sights and sounds of Lamu Town.

  Lamu island is beautiful and the locals are nice, and extremely warm,Lamu house hotel however is another ball game,the room I booked for weeks ahead was given to someone else (white)and I (black)was forced to stay in a room that I did not like for my first night, even after being reassured i would get the room I booked,the owner of the establishment is dismissive when asked for assistance responding with things like “this is Kenya, we pay taxes!” with offering any other solutions when asked innocent questions like if they charge money from our card and in turn give us cash to spend in town as we do not have mpesa or a Kenyan card.We complained about a group of (white) people who made a huge noise similar to the noise from a party at 2am on our last night there and we were met with an off hand apology from him when we told him in person later that morning,upon expressing displeasure with how we were being treated the owner came by pool where I was swimming,stood over me and in a very harsh voice asked me to go up get my stuff and leave before check out time,knowing fully well we had a flight delay which they informed us about,forcing us to wait at the airport for hours,I will be speaking more on this on my social media,if you’re not white, do understand you will not be a priority here.

  A beautiful property in a good location for old town with very nice restaurant. Hotel and pool area are absolutely stunning. Staff could use a bit more training, rooms need some TLC and some things on their website no longer match what is in their rooms (safe, bathrobes, hair dryer for example). However we had a lovely stay and would recommend.

  We stayed at Lamu House for 3 nights and have had the most beautiful experience. Its a beautiful hotel with charming and comfortable rooms, staff are all very friendly. Their local guide, Abu, is brilliant, take a walk with him around the town to learn about the history, architecture and culture of Lamu. The only fault, is the restaurant. No value for money and poor quality. Luckily we were on BB, so we got to enjoy some of the fantastic local restaurants in the area.

  I stayed her with my family! 7 adults and 4 children. Julian was a fantastic host. He was very thoughtful, welcoming and really considered us my parents throughout our whole stay. Staff were very kind and helpful! Such I nice atmosphere!! We have also booked the dhow dinner cruise with the hotel. It was a very very nice experience. I would 100% recommend it! There is only one thing that needs to be worked on. That would be the efficiency of the restaurant. When ordering food it takes a very long time for the food to come with few mistakes unfortunately. Overall I would 100% recommend Lamu House!
