Restored Swahili house in downtown Lamu with palatial rooms, delicious food, and hosts — Malik, Norbert, Wilson, and Emerson — who treat you like royalty. The interior design alone is worth the stay.

Palatial rooms, royal treatment and delicious food make Baytil Ajaib a hidden gem in downtown Lamu. The lovingly restored Swahili house is an art lover’s delight, but what makes this place a class apart are the warm, attentive hosts, local legends Malik and Norbert, and the wonderful Wilson and Emerson. Their attention to detail was heart-warming. Looking forward to coming back one day soon.

Wonderful host, beautiful interior design. Small paradise hidden in the heart of Lamu town. Truly a secret escape!
