Our family of 6 (2 adults and 4 kids) loved our stay at Hildana Lodge. The food was delicious, pool enjoyable, and the staff hospitable. We loved that we could go on game drives and excursions or just relax at the lodge at let the elephants come to us. We recommend enjoying the views at the pool, at least one sundowner, and touring the farm.

My first safari and I loved it. I visited with a highly experienced wildlife film maker who also rated Hildana highly. The team were charming; the food was excellent and the amount of elephants at the water hole was truly impressive. The game drives were a rich source of species including many birds of prey and a glimpse of a melanistic serval cat. A wonderful stay - thanks to all at Hildana.

Once upon a time, in the timeless wilds of Kenya... Having been in and out of Kenya for almost half a century, pulling up to Hildana Lodge on January 15th really stirred up the best memories of this incredible country. We stayed for two magical nights—15th and 16th—and it felt like stepping back into the Kenya I fell in love with years ago. The staff were absolutely gorgeous: friendly faces greeting us with big smiles and going out of their way to make everything perfect. From the moment we arrived, tired from the drive from Watamu on the beloved Mombasa Nairobi road, they whisked us to our room with fresh towels and a chilled welcome drink that hit the spot. The facilities were spot-on—just rustic enough to feel authentic, yet comfy with a big deck overlooking the bush. Our suite was spacious, the beds heavenly after a long day, and the food? Oh man, those breakfasts with fresh fruits and eggs cooked to order were fabolous! Dinners under the stars were pure magic, with Kenyan dishes that brought back childhood flavors. And the water hole—wow, it’s stunning. We sat there for hours on the 16th, sipping a good barridi Tusker while watching massive herds of elephants come down to drink, along with giraffes, zebras, buffalos and warthogs.Haven’t seen such big packs of elephants in years; it was like nature’s own show, right from our deck. The whole lodge and conservancy integrate so beautifully—no jarring fences, just seamless harmony with the landscape. It’s that rare spot where luxury meets the wild without feeling forced—quiet, intimate, and full of surprises. Once upon a time also happens to be how all fairy tales begin, and Hildana really is one come to life. Keep the good work up! We left on the 17th feeling recharged and already plotting our return. Thanks to all the team and the management—you made our two nights unforgettable!

My stay at The Hildana Lodge was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment I arrived, I felt welcomed into a peaceful, elegant retreat that perfectly blends comfort with the natural beauty of Kenya’s highlands. The lodge is beautifully designed, with spacious, tastefully decorated rooms that open up to breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape and Mount Kenya. Every detail—from the cozy interiors to the thoughtful amenities—made the stay feel both luxurious and homely. Waking up to fresh air, birdsong, and golden light over the hills was unforgettable. The staff truly elevate the experience. They are warm, attentive, and genuinely caring, always ready to help while respecting your privacy. Meals were a highlight as well—fresh, well-prepared, and delicious, with ingredients that clearly reflect local quality and care. What I loved most was the tranquility. Whether relaxing by the lodge, enjoying a quiet walk, or simply sitting with a cup of coffee and taking in the views, The Hildana Lodge offers a rare sense of calm and connection to nature. I would wholeheartedly recommend The Hildana Lodge to anyone looking for a serene, high-quality getaway in Kenya. It’s a place that stays with you long after you leave, and I can’t wait to return.

Hildana Lodge offers a quiet, serene, and incredibly private safari experience (eight tents total). The setting is fantastic, though be prepared for a long drive after leaving the main highway. Cost was 25,000 KES per person for residents. Highlights: Wildlife: Exceptional. Saw giraffes (including a tower of them at dawn), elephants, warthogs with babies, zebra, impala, and more, right from the lodge area. Food: Overall average, but the shrimp pasta on Sunday night was a surprising 8/10 and very nice. Bartender: Henry is a superstar! Attentive and professional, he was the only staff member who regularly engaged. Needs Improvement: General Service: The main downside. Staff were often distracted by their mobile phones or aloof, requiring guests to actively seek out service. The lodge shop was also closed when we wanted to use it. If you are looking for peace and great wildlife viewing, and don't mind managing your own service a bit, Hildana is a beautiful and worthwhile place. We would happily return.
