  Went through here thinking it was a highway only to meet this gate. It was too far to go back to malindi then proceed to Nairobi. We had a high car so we decided to use the voi route. Please be aware as of Dec 2025 it's not in the best condition as there are a lot of ripples and the car bounces a lot. The best way to go through it is on high speed around 80kph so you can ride the top of the ripples like the tourist cars. Otherwise it's a 20kph ride for you. I finished my cars bushes doing this. Spent 3hrs travelling 90km from this gate to voi gate. I'll try the Manyani route next time as I enjoyed it as much as the slow ride frustrated me hehehe. All the best. If you see you will arrive late at the next gate, make sure to call the emergency number and inform them, when you get network, some parts of the park have no network service.   But the road through from Sala Gate to rest of Tsavo is terrible. A no go zone if you don't want to wreck your jeep! KWS could certainly do a better job in the road maintenance!!

  The best parks in Kenya beautiful Savannah amazing bushes and wonderful forest all combined together plus a lovely long river. Beautiful animals Alot of Elephants and other animals ie Lions giraffes crocodiles buffaloes and many more the home of MAN EATERS. Its the largest park in Kenya and 2nd in Africa with 13,747km2

  At this point, you can watch the crocodiles basking down there at River Galana. If you're lucky to be there very early in the morning, there'll be a very beautiful sunrise.
