  I have visited the place both in 2017 and 2018, in 2017 the buffet dinner and breakfast was amazing, giving me reason to go back the following year around the Christmas Festivities. In 2018, the room i slept lacked table, slippers, the door had a problem the bathroom was muddy, I visited the reception desk a couple of times to complain and little was done to ease my discomfort. I was very disappointed and don't recommend anyone, especially if you plan on spending your time for vacation not to mention its expensive.

  I happened to spend one night at mkll... And I can't recommend anyone to spend the night here...maybe to eat and chill when it's low season... because I'm really disappointed. My bathroom was dirty...didn't have a night stand...no accessible socket to charge my electronics...had no slippers at first I had to complain to get slippers. The door to my room could not lock and I had to complain Totally no value for money. Sucks that while I was here to vacation, i was thinking of going back home the whole time.

  It's located 13-14km(my own estimation) away from the gate into the Mt Kenya park. 3 meals a day are provided and it's decent food is served. Gets quite cold at night but the hotel provides hot water bottle warmers that you place under the covers to keep warm. The showers some of the times can be a bit of a nuisance.

  Overall good experience. Food service was a bit below expectation, lacked options. Rooms were well maintained. Service was good. Clear view of mount Kenya peak from the hotel and a good location for stargazing. They have open fields and also a river stream that gives you a good adventure vibe. Overall surrounded by nature and is best for giving you the privacy you need.

  This very odd hotel was deserted except for us and the staff, who were all friendly. The grounds are pretty with hiking trails and kid playground equipment. However, the main lodging building is ramshackle as if it was never properly completed. The bar is comfortable but dining room food is only OK. Perhaps it's more lively in high season.
