We stopped here briefly during transit for a quick break and ordered dawa, sausages, and mashed potatoes to go. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing and reflects poor oversight from upper management. The food was packed in recycled packaging that still had original blackberry labels on it, along with a reused Java cup. Despite paying 1,700, no cutlery was provided. When we asked, we were told to eat the mashed potatoes using a serviette. This situation highlights a serious failure in management standards. Food handling and packaging are not minor details—they are fundamental to customer safety and dignity. The way this was handled shows a troubling lack of consideration for both clients and the staff who are left to manage these shortcomings. Upper management bears responsibility for allowing such practices to continue.

Took a detour/resting point after a long journey. A beautiful place. Helpful workers, though the one we were given to take us around alikuwa mavitu. The pungent smell was overwhelming. But never the less a beautiful place.

Hunters Lodge is a perfect place to overnight if you don't want to do the Mombasa Road in one day. Also a good part to stop for a coffee or a meal.

Its a nice hotel on Mombasa highway. Rooms are good, but can be better in terms of minor touches. Have good wildlife and you can indeed to fishing. Premises are nice, and can be cleaner. It also has a very decent restaurant and nice ready to help staff. I recommend you to visit.

The Lodge is dated with very underwhelming decor. Oops tired and needs some serious renovation. The dam or pond is lovely . Our chef Mr Olang was amazing . Our food was perfectly. I am not a believer in glorifying former colonialists who killed our animals so I certainly won't be returning to this place unless the history of the Scotsman is correctly represented I think we need to look carefully into these shameful and cruel past colonial activities with the disdain they deserve.
