    The name literally means mountain woodlands or mountain forest. The hotel itself is located beneath Mt Kenya just before the gate to Mt. Kenya National park. Great ambiance and rooms.

    We stayed here for 2 nights and also did a hike up Mount Kenya. The hotel is very clean and decorated beautifully. The staff are friendly and attentive to your needs, including the hike tour guide.

    We visited this hotel in low season (we were probably the only guests) and while the room was nice and spacious, the service was a bit lacking. Nothing on the menu was available and the card machine was not working - thing they announced only at the end of our stay. The location is great if you are planning to hike Mount Kenya, but be prepared to find an alternative payment method and food by yourself!
