Lotus Hotel

About
No-nonsense rooms in a down-to-earth budget hotel offering breakfast, plus a restaurant & a bar.
The AC actually works — not just a glorified fan — and the beds are comfy enough that guests sleep like babies. Book it for the few-minute walk to Fort Jesus and the 6am breakfast service when you need an early start. WiFi's garbage, so don't plan on working from here.

The room is average. Nothing amazing or bad. I could give it a 4 star but not sure. Soap was provided but not bamboo, which isn’t a huge ordeal. The best thing? The AC legit worked. Most hotels at times the AC is a glorified fan that spins air. So lotus has real cold AC. The WiFi? Garbage. It never worked in the room but if I went outside walked 5 rooms down, it worked okay. It came with free continental breakfast which is the picture I posted. The reason why I bumped it from a 4 star to a 3 star? I’m only 80% sure but I am missing a $100 bill. I saw 10 days in a row until that night, in the hotel. I couldn’t find it so...either I lost it, which is a 20% chance, or someone took it. Hence my doubts so I gave this place a 3 star (again: average room with WiFi that sucked but Ac that worked well). The front desk guy was super nice and helped direct me to a currency exchange area. Not based on the hotel but I enhanced $45 USD for 5200 KES (the real conversion is 5900 KES) but the guy tried to scam me at 4000 KES ($31). Exchange is maybe 650 KES ($5 USD plus extra if you want). So if I find my money, I’ll adjust to 4 star. As it stands, 3 star hotel bc I should have hid my money better (other than a zipped up small bag on the desk).

Oooh man! The environment is so peaceful and the rooms are spacious!! I swear I slept like a baby! Very comfy beds. The reception is a bit off , wish they can change their deco otherwise I was very happy. Good breakfast too

The rooms are clean and very comfortable. And the staff are lovely and help you with everything you can need. We needed to have breakfast at 6am and they prepared it for us perfectly in time. It's very close to the center. A great place to stay!

Nice atmosphere for having a private chat. Service is acceptable if you only want a drink, the food takes too long and the presentation is so-so. Overall easy to get to if you want a quick drink after work. It's one of those places where you could go where everybody knows your name!
