  Absolutely beautiful resort!! Extremely Friendly staff. The food on buffet and Grill restaurant are exceptional!! The Italian restaurant needs some attention & supervision, the food and service were below average. Amazing pools, always kept clean and there's constantly one of the pool attendants fishing out leafs or things that tend to blow into the pool (WELL DONE TO YOU GUYS!!!) Stunning views of the beach and lots security always around to make sure that you feel safe.

  Southern Palms Beach Resort is not just a hotel – it truly feels like a home away from home. From the very first moment, Big Mama Mercie takes care of the guests as if they were her own children, making everyone feel welcomed, safe, and deeply cared for. The owner and his family are wonderful, warm-hearted, kind, and incredibly hospitable people who create the unique family atmosphere of this place. Kamal, the head chef, is a true master of his craft – every meal is prepared with passion, heart, and exceptional skill, and the food is simply unforgettable. Special appreciation also goes to the security team, especially Juma, who ensures guests’ safety with great professionalism and kindness. Staying at this hotel truly makes you feel like part of one big family. It is a place that stays in your heart and calls you back. Highly recommended from the bottom of my heart.

  My stay at the Southern Hotel was truly wonderful. The hotel is well maintained, surrounded by greenery, and has a calm and relaxing atmosphere. The rooms were clean and regularly serviced, and the food was tasty and varied. Special thanks go to Sofi, who works at the hotel – she is an incredibly kind, warm, and professional person. Always smiling, helpful, and caring about guests’ comfort. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a relaxing holiday with excellent service.

  A great hotel in a fantastic location. The beach was clean, peaceful, and uncrowded—despite not being private, it truly felt like one. While the rooms could benefit from a little TLC, such as soundproof sliding doors (as music plays until around 11pm) and updated shower heads, these were minor points in an otherwise wonderful stay. The true standout of this hotel is its exceptional team. Every single staff member was welcoming and attentive—from the grounds staff and security to the pool attendants, waiters, entertainment team, and front-of-house staff. Each day, they took the time to ensure we were comfortable and well cared for, and any issues raised were addressed immediately. A special mention goes to Sofia in the main restaurant and the absolute gem that is Daisy. Daisy looked after us as though we were family, going above and beyond to make our stay truly special. We are incredibly grateful to her—she made our trip unforgettable and she is a true asset to the establishment.

  I’ve just come back from a stay at Southern Palms Beach Resort in Mombasa, and I have to say — the experience inside the resort was fantastic. The choice of food is on another level, with a huge variety of both vegetarian and non-veg dishes, plus plenty of beverages to keep you going throughout the day. You won’t go hungry here, that’s for sure. The staff truly make the place. Customer service from Mercie was exceptional and friendly, attentive, and always ready to help. The chefs, serving staff, and even the security guards deserve a mention; they made sure we were always comfortable and never troubled. It’s rare to see this level of care, and they genuinely take pride in what they do. Now, the only downside and it’s outside the resort’s control is the beach walk in the early morning. It’s simply not peaceful. Local beach sellers approach you constantly, and it does get a bit much when all you want is a quiet stroll. It’s part of the local culture, but still, it can be off-putting. All that said, the resort itself is excellent and absolutely worth visiting. Great hospitality, great food, and a solid place to unwind. I’d definitely recommend Southern Palms Beach Resort for anyone visiting Mombasa.
