My wife and I had heart winning dining experience on Sunday at the Mombasa Shere-E-Punjab famous classic Heritage indian restaurant which was established in 1987 thanks to its fine Management and staff especially to caring and welcoming Ms. Cindy Chegge [Restaurant Hostess], Ms. Lynett Akinyi [waitress] and Evans Kahindi[waiter] and Mr. Shadrak..The quality of service was impressive . We also enjoyed the quality of the freshly made and hotly served delicious food with Chilly Naan and crispy tandoori roti thanks to the chefs Deepak Bisht, Evans and Bernard.. We also enjoyed watching the entertaiment programmes on the big TV Screen in the very well managed and upgraded very clean restaurant..We have been visiting this beautiful restaurant for the past 38 years.. We spent our quality time at this great place. We have also enjoyed staying at the Travellers Beach Hotel and Spa in the past during our holidays and also for cricket umpiring..Planning again to visit this fine dining restaurant in near future.Thank you all at the Shere E Punjab restaurant for your very good work and also for looking after us very well. - Subhash Modi A former International Cricket Umpire.

Set within the basement of our hotel, this restaurant had some tasty dishes on the menu, the mixed grill, lamb and prawn curries we had were really nice and well spiced. Service was great, but despite being empty the place had delusions of grandeur, and we were asked to wear sarongs to cover our legs. Was confused by dress policy, the place wasn’t exactly fine dining with all its gaudy paintings and statues, it felt like you were surrounded by museum exhibits.

Amazing food wide selection great ambience. Remember dinner is formal no vests and shorts otherwise they give you a wrap to cover yourself.

This restaurant is wonderfully set for indoors dinning, they serve authentic Indian dishes. It surely is worth a trial if you like Indian dishes. Price range Ksh 1,000 - 2,000 per person. (Food and drinks)
