  Ein insgesamt tolles Restaurant! Das Essen war ausgezeichnet bei sehr moderaten Preisen. Das Personal war freundlich und sehr engagiert. Da es der Geburtstag meines Mannes war, gab es ein paar kleine Highlights, wie zum Beispiel das Geburtstagslied der Band und einen personalisierten Kuchen. Die Lage direkt am Strand ist natürlich ansich schon ein Highlight. Unser Kind wurde mit viel Spaß und Empathie von einem Hauseigenen Animateur betreut, somit kam auch bei ihm keine Langeweile auf. Das Char-Choma kann ich wärmstens empfehlen! Sollten wir irgendwann wieder nach Mombasa kommen, werden wir hier sicherlich wieder einkehren.

  Offers direct beachfront access, multiple seating areas (including a wooden deck, sandy oceanfront tables, and an upper bar deck), and picturesque views of the ocean. ​Entertainment & Amenities: Very family-friendly, featuring an outdoor swimming pool, a dedicated children’s play area, and live band performances or DJ music in the evenings. ​Things to Keep in Mind: The restaurant gets quite busy during peak hours and weekends, so wait times for grilled orders can increase, and parking near the entrance may fill up quickly.

  Fun fun fun. It was a lovely surprise to be invited out for dinner with a friend... the restaurant was absolutely buzzing, full of people, laughter and the kind of happy chaos that tells you the food must be good. As a first time visitor, I did find myself a little confused by the format and wasn't entirely sure how everything worked, so a little guidance would have been helpful for tourists. That said, once I found my feet, it was a thoroughly enjoyable experience. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was lively and authentic, and although it was loud and wonderfully hectic, it all added to the fun. I would happily go back... and the cocktails were definitely worth ordering too. 🍸

  ★★★★★ Char-Choma is one of our favorite restaurants in Mombasa and, in our opinion, one of the best beachfront dining destinations on the coast. The restaurant is especially great for families with children. There is a large playground right next to the dining area with excellent play structures, and they often have entertainers who keep the children engaged and having fun while parents relax and enjoy their meal. As the name suggests, Char-Choma specializes in expertly prepared grilled meats and seafood, but the menu is much broader than that and offers something for everyone. We've enjoyed everything from hearty meals to lighter options, and the cocktails are consistently excellent. It is also a wonderful place to visit in the morning for coffee and breakfast, with beautiful views and a relaxed atmosphere that makes it easy to linger and enjoy the surroundings. The service is always friendly and attentive. The staff genuinely make guests feel welcome and appreciated. We have hosted several celebrations and gatherings here, and each one has felt special thanks to the professionalism and warmth of the team. Whether you're looking for a family outing, a beachfront meal, drinks with friends, or a place to celebrate a special occasion, Char-Choma is one of Mombasa's standout restaurants and a place we happily return to again and again.

  I didn’t check out the rooms, I only went there for lunch and I honestly loved the entire experience. Selecting my proteins was cool, though I wish the lobster was not frozen but fresh. I went there when it was not as busy so I was spoilt for choice in terms of sitting. The ambience is super chilled as you have the ocean right in front of you. My meal was a definite 10/10 🔥🔥
