    The SGR trains are very well built. It is very clean and the staff tries to keep it as clean as possible and they sweep/swipe the floors every hour. Thats all the positives. Now the suggestions... the AC is kept so low that we were sweating all the way from Mombasa to Nairobi. I had to tell every passing by staff member to pls turn ON the AC. If you do not want to keep the ac on, atleast keet the windows open so that we can have out side air circulation. It was suffocation. Very UNHEALTHY! The other thing that i felt really bad was the seat's headrest. It was straight, no reclination ATALL!! The back pain after 6 hours!! My god! Horrible, terrible.

    First time here. It feels just like an airport. Tight security friendly staff. Using VIP lounge was great. Sadly there are only pastries to be served here with plenty of sugar to add to your system. I wish if they could add some healthy sandwiches to their menu.

    The terminus itself: Surprisingly great. They are on time! The ladies and gents at the counters are very very polite in general (1/5 are unbothered though) to assist you. Boarding is a bit protocolaire but it’s for safety so all good. Train it self, premium is worth it on weekends are economic is loud, kids running up and down. Max speed is 120km. Express takes 5h (not non stop as advertised, 1-2 flash stops) to mombassa et other ones 2hours more.

    If you’re in a rush this is definitely not for you! The SGR especially the Premium class, is an experience inviting you to slow down, take your time, have some fun, enjoy the view, read that book you’ve been wanting to read, and feel the trip. The service is nice, variety for the breakfast and professional staff! Plus, they’re punctual! So be there on time. If you’re too critical please make it constructive! Book for the experience!

    The SGR is WAAAY better than flying to the coast! Pay the extra bit of money to ride in the first class cabins, bring some snacks, and hit the tracks! The crew is kind and the ride is smooth. It’s a bit hot when the sun is shining but so are the planes. My suggestion for both the Nairobi and the Mombasa Terminus is that they add some tall signs with numbers to help people find each other. It took me 10-15 mins just to find the uber drivers at both stops. A land mark, like a number sign, would be very helpful.
