  My stay at Silver Rock Hotel Malindi in December and honestly, it’s a solid, budget-friendly gem in a very good location. The hotel offers spacious rooms with great balcony views, which was a big plus for me. The pool is deep and well maintained — definitely not child-friendly, but perfect for confident swimmers who actually want to swim properly rather than splash around. While the property is slightly dated, it’s very clear that the current management is actively working on upgrades, and the effort shows. The place is clean, well run, and offers excellent value for money, especially for travelers looking for comfort without paying luxury prices. One suggestion would be to consider adding a restaurant or food service closer to the pool area, which would really elevate the guest experience. Overall, Silver Rock is a great choice for budget travelers, long stays, and anyone who values space, location, and practicality over flashy extras. I’d definitely recommend it and would stay again.

  The location is pretty convenient to all sites and restaurants within Malindi town. There was a persistent stuffy smell coming from the bathroom and toilet. Several facilities, including the fans and toilet fittings, were either faulty or not functioning properly, and our bathroom experienced frequent clogging. The presence of fire ants around the property was also an issue, as they made their way into the rooms. For guests traveling with families, the pool is not particularly child-friendly. Breakfast is scheduled between 8:00 and 10:00 AM; however, arriving after 8:30 AM often means waiting for items to be replenished. It appeared that the breakfast service was not adequately prepared to cater for the number of guests and reservations. The hotel advertised as beach front but its not.

  We booked this place earlier this year, and unfortunately, my stay was far from satisfactory. Security: We experienced a serious security issue during our stay, as some of our belongings went missing. This made the experience extremely stressful. Food: Although we had paid for proper meals, the breakfast served on the first day was below our expectations of what we had paid for, almost as if they were not expecting any guests. We requested a refund for the meals, which was granted. - We were initially assured of a refund for the remaining amount for the nights we did not stay. However, I was repeatedly given reasons for delays, and to date, the refund has still not been processed. Overall, the experience was quite disappointing, and I hope they can improve on these aspects.

  I had a very disappointing experience during my stay. Renovations were ongoing, and the strong smell of paint kept coming into the room. The back door of the room could not close properly, and there was also a very bad odor coming from the room itself. I had a very hard time sleeping under such conditions. On top of that, the staff were extremely rude, not just the guy who seemed like the manager, but some of the other staff as well. Especially one morning when I went for breakfast, I could overhear your chef or people in the kitchen talking loudly about guests, including someone who was about to take breakfast. They were generally speaking badly about the guests eating, and honestly, that is very wrong and unprofessional. I also realized that the bed sheets were not being changed. They would just make the bed without replacing the bedding, which raises serious concerns about hygiene. The food itself was also not good and did not meet the expected standards. For the sake of guests’ health and comfort, I strongly urge you to reconsider how you handle renovations, especially when people are still staying in the rooms. Based on my experience, I honestly cannot recommend the Hotel.

  I had an amazing stay The location is perfect, right by the ocean with breathtaking views. The rooms were clean, spacious, and comfortable, and I especially loved waking up to the sound of the waves. The staff were very friendly and always willing to help with anything i needed. Perfect spot for both relaxation and fun — I’ll definitely be coming back!
