Unfortunately mediocre/modest experience, comparing to the listed rate of the hotel. We had a day pass and more was expected. Service and willingness to solve some minor issues was reluctant, slowish, very shaky and unclear. Restaurant waiter was positive and professional, though - so points for him. In overall, we did not feel us welcome at all, which was sad and also a bit of a surprise. When we were leaving, staff hanging around did not offer any helping hand for carrying our luggage to the taxi - which is very unsual around here. Luckily we had a good and known taxi enterpreneur and some healthy hands on our own. Location and surroundings good with easy access to a beach.

A wonderful property for couples and families, stunning beach, great staff and fab facilities. Liked · The beach location was superb with good amounts of loungers to view the ocean and access to the beach was great allow for privacy and protection from those on the beach without obstructing views of the beach. The various locations to sit around the 2 pools were above what is normal provided at other properties. The staff across the whole hotel were exceptional, professional and helpful. The beach front restaurant had a great variety of locations to sit, drink and eat, from lunch to dinner time, with menu choices and prices comparable to lots of other Watamu restaurants. Beautiful lush gardens are well maintained and the paths through the compound give a relaxed and tropical feel. All in all a great hotel to stay at for the price, location and facilities. Disliked · The breakfast whilst the quality was not bad, it was limited in variety and quantity based on other properties in the same price point. Whilst parking is offered, there is no onsite parking at all. It is noted that the hotel does have helpful security staff outside the compound on the public beach access road, assisting guests to find parking spots.

Within 5 minutes of checking in. I went to sit on the toilet and due to it not being sealed at the base, it toppled over and the cistern smashed. The local staff immediately came and moved me to a new room. However, within a couple of hours they sent me a message telling me that I owe them over USD200 for damages. When I went to reception to enquire the manager was not even present on the property. Once they finally got the manager on the phone she was extremely rude and aggressive, insisting that I somehow broke the toilet on purpose, but then said she hasn't assessed the situation. So why in the world would you charge me before even knowing the situation? In the end, we just checked out even after having paid for 2 nights because they had made the experience extremely unpleasant and we could not relax at all. Not a single apology even after the end of the situation. On top of all that, the resort is filled with old creepy Italian men with young Kenyan girls. Response to their reply: This is exactly the way guests can expect to be treated when any issues arise. They will just straight up lie and assume that everyone is so dumb to believe them. They said that it is standard procedure that they check all the toilets before guests check in. So I can just imagine that housekeeping is going around sitting on the toilet every time they clean the room. Look at the attached photo and you can see how the base of the toilet is crumbling. “Despite our efforts to resolve the issue on site” - the manager was rude and unapologetic on the phone, insisting it was my fault even though she was not on site to even review the issue herself. They then expected me to just wait around for her to eventually come to the hotel the next day before anything could be resolved. So I decided to leave rather than waiting around feeling disrespected and stressed. Also I did not ask for a refund, booking.com was the one that advised to request it. All I wanted was a genuine apology which as you can see here they are completely incapable of doing. The room was not rendered unusable because the staff told me it would be fixed in a few hours so that is also a complete lie. You say your intention was not to be disrespectful, and yet the way you treated me then, and the your response now says otherwise

Nice and very clean rooms. The staff was amazing, thumbs up to everyone for being nice and welcoming (this was the best overall hotell staff we had on our 2 week trip around in Kenya). Food is good at prices at the same level as similar places in Watamu. The beach access is great to have. Location is also good, you get a bit of a private, not so crowdy feel, with only 15 mins drive to the city of Watamu. All in all an easy given 5 star review.

I came here with some friends to enjoy the premises with a day pass and have lunch at their beachside restaurant. The location is beautiful with friendly and attentive staff and nice comfortable loungers. The staff served us fresh orange juice when we arrived, which was a nice touch. In addition to the beach, there are two pools with sparkling crystalline waters what were calling my name. A beautiful setting all around. The restaurant overlooks the water and has a great menu — my friends and I all ordered different meals and shared from each other. Looking forward to coming back here.
