  I had originally booked my stay at the MetBeach Resort because I was looking for a hotel in Malindi with direct beach access. Met advertises that it houses a clean and serene private beach, so I was extremely surprised when I arrived and found a beach that was quite dirty and extremely rocky, hampering its accessibility. When I mentioned the misleading advertising and expressed my disappointment to the staff, they told me there was not much they could do about the natural conditions of the beach. After I told them that they should not advertise that they have an accessible beach, the manager mentioned that they may be able to arrange transport to the Malindi Marine Park so I could access the beach there. The next day, they notified me that the hotel director said that would actually not be possible. This was just one example of the ways in which the hotel director shut down customer wishes and staff suggestions to reduce personal costs. On the first night, I received some lackluster dinner and brought it up with the waitstaff, who were extremely accommodating and proposed a potential refund for my meal. When I ultimately checked out and mentioned the refund, the staff member checking me out had to call the director before approving the refund. The director attempted to deny me the refund and eventually made the staff member go to the kitchen to verify I had complained in the first place, before reluctantly refunding me. The staff at MetBeach were by and large kind, accommodating and eager to try to meet requests I had but they were absolutely not well equipped or given the freedom to do their jobs by the director, who is clearly only interested in turning a profit at any and all cost. I was repeatedly given stained towels (a testament to his frugality) and anything that could have incurred an extra cost to the hotel was micromanaged by the director. Met beach was pretty conveniently located within Malindi, had a good breakfast, kind staff, a great ocean view (though as I said the beach was lacking) and a small boutique feel, but the treatment and amenities I received were absolutely not worth the amount of money I paid, nor up to par with the services advertised. Until the top leadership of the hotel changes hands, if you want to get your money’s worth, I would suggest you book your stay elsewhere.

  Best experience in Malindi. Cozy place. Nice staff. Good food. SUPER LOCATION on the beach.

  I didn't sleep at MET however, I was a walkin client and celebrated my birthday there. It's a nice resort. Gotta keep your eyes on the kids while they are swimming, they don't have a life guard. Other than that, it's a nice joint, the beach view fantastic! I really enjoyed that.

  Had brunch with about 90 people. Really picturesque place with views of the ocean, simple but classy decor, good food, excellent service with super helpful staff. Highly recommend!

  I enjoyed and loved my stay in met resort. The beach and ocean view was Euphoric. Loved the room and the balcony rest area with the ocean view, though there were some ants wandering around the second day. The place is quiey and peaceful.The beach is private and your get to enjoy to the fullest if you don't like huge crowds. The breakfast was delicious, I didn't like the dinner and felt it was average. I would recommend they provide guests toothpaste, and disposable shower cap. The place is near Malindi marine park. Overally I enjoyed my solo stay, and felt safe.
