  Regret booking this place completely. Booked it months before the booking date. I was then contacted directly by the hotel one month before the booking saying I needed to pay the full amount in order to secure my stay, only to be called THE DAY of arrival that they couldn’t get me a room and will have to be moved to their sister hotel “The One” which was not the same value. Definitely a very calculated scam. We had to eat out almost every time because the food was not good and the facilities were so run down with half of the pool with no tiles. I didn’t stay in st.thomas but when I went there the facilities were so run down and we didn’t even dare try the food when we saw it, definitely not more than 2 stars. It seems I am not the only person that also went through this.

  This was hands down the worst hotel experience any of us have ever had. We were completely misled and defrauded by St. Thomas Resort marketing itself as a five-star property. It is absolutely NOT. At best, this is a 2-star experience, and many reviews on Booking.com and Google reflect similar issues. One day before arrival, the hotel personally contacted us via email and tried to move our confirmed reservation to a cheaper sister hotel called “The One,” without involving Booking.com, without our consent, and without a refund of the price difference. We explicitly told Booking.com we did NOT want this alternative and was assured Booking.com would handle communication. Despite that, we still had to spend an entire day of our vacation calling back and forth between Booking.com and the hotel. When we arrived, we were told the hotel was fully booked, despite having confirmed Deluxe Ocean View rooms that we paid extra for. 30 minutes later, rooms “appeared,” but were downgrades: one Garden View Deluxe and another room that was basically a tiny studio with just a bed and bathroom, no living room at all, despite the Deluxe Room description. We have photos proving this. We were pressured into accepting inferior rooms, and never received any price difference refund. Service was chaotic and painfully slow. Staff was untrained and clueless. Even simple requests like a menu or drinks took 15 minutes to arrive, and food consistently took over an hour. The restaurant menu was a joke: a large menu, but only three items available. We ordered correctly, waited over an hour, and still received the wrong food. Their solution was a free drink. We were still hungry. Billing was also shady. They tried charging us for four buffet meals when only three people ate, and only removed the charge after arguing. Renson, the manager, repeatedly apologized at checkout and admitted fault. We paid premium prices expecting luxury and got stress, misrepresentation, and constant problems.

  Hidden Gem Indeed. The view is amazing. Very clean beach with a beautiful sunset view . friendly staff especially Sophie,she was really kind and welcoming. We will definitely come back again. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a calm and peaceful place alone or with family. The road is abit rough though.

  We were staying with multiple people for a wedding (happening in a nearby location). There were multiple power cuts during the nights and Aircon failed accordingly. As the room became so hot, we asked what was the matter and got quite a harsh response from one of the hotel staff. Weird place, with limited trained staff, food very average - not according to the 5 stars, missing mosquito nets in some rooms, water on and off at weird times (just when we had to get ready for the wedding, there was no water). Beach and view is beautiful and good for walks, but not very swimmable. Be careful with what you get charged at checkout! Overly bad experience.

  The beach is a dream and secluded enough to keep away the beach boys. The room is one of the largest I've seen in Kenya, with a beautiful small terrace to relax in the evening. The fusion food was delicious. Professional staff, kind but not intrusive (for solo travelers it's important). Thanks to the Hotel Manager Renato and to all the staff ... keep it up ... I'll be back as soon as I can
