  his was my first solo vacation, and I wanted a quiet, peaceful, and tranquil boutique hotel. African House Resort checked all the boxes and more. The décor is amazing, the garden is beautiful and well-maintained, and the cabanas were clean and extremely comfortable. At check-in, I wasn’t given a thorough walk-through of the room and the hotel. I had to figure out for myself how to control the fan settings. I found the refrigerator on day two. I wasn’t provided with the Wi-Fi password. Although it wasn’t a big issue for me, the TVs do not work. Most concerning and a fire hazard was the lock to my room. I got locked in and had to call the reception to let me out.

  It's a very wonderful and quiet place. The natural flowers,trees,grass and the sweet sounds of birds soothing to the soul,did I mention the relaxing breeze..this made me unwind so well. We loved the rooms,the hospitability....... Thank you Giovanna,you have a true gem for holidays See you soon!!!

  Really beautifully decorated hotel, with attention to detail in decor. The rooms were grand with AC & Fan. Loved the top floor terrace as it offered a breezy area to relax and work. The food and drink offers were very limited, so we found ourselves needing to eat out more. Only one member of staff (Mombasa) was working, so there was delay getting service....and sometimes the food was cold. Very strict about bringing in outside food and drink, which wouldn't be an issue if they had more to offer, or didn't have items missing. Despite eating out the majority of our stay, and with prepaid breakfast, the bill was quite high....can't imagined what it would have been if we liked more of the menu. Clientele seemed to keep to themselves, and some for obvious reasons, which is not typically the most comfortable in a resort that small. Wouldn't recommend for long durations.

  This is one of the best place in Malindi if you are looking for something unique. We spotted the property on Google maps and just walked in during the December festive season and we were fortunate to find accomodation. We had planned to be there for just one night and we ended up spending another night. It's truly a value for money and peaceful as well. The whole place is all thought out with alot of African touch . The bed is quite big , but my most favorite part was the bathroom it's big and really beautiful. The pool is also great . It's a very nice place to relax. I would recommend if anyone is visiting malindi to spend a night there. The access is the only negative experience I had since it's abit off the road and the road is rough. The breakfast is okay and great customer service.
