  Tamarind Brasserie, Karen This is a beautiful restaurant that fails spectacularly where it matters most: service and value. Yes, the location is easy to access. Yes, the artwork at the entrance is impressive. Unfortunately, that is where the positives end. The three of us walked all the way into the restaurant on a Tuesday,staff everywhere,yet completely unseen. No greeting. No acknowledgment. No eye contact. We stood there long enough to be uncomfortable, clearly visible, and still ignored. Eventually, we had to call a staff member ourselves. That moment alone set the tone for the entire experience and is, quite frankly, unacceptable for any restaurant, let alone one positioning itself at this price point. We were not escorted to our seating; we were pointed toward a cabana and told the restaurant was busy due to an expected group. One cabana was set up for the event, which was understandable—but poor service is not. Lunch orders were simple. I ordered a T-bone steak, medium to well. What arrived was medium. When you’re spending premium money, accuracy should not be optional. The final bill came to approximately KSh 15,000 for three people for lunch. At that price, the experience should be meaningful,thoughtful service, attention to detail, and food that justifies the cost. Unfortunately, neither the service nor the meals rose to that level. If you’re looking for greenery, fresh air, and a nice setting, Tamarind Brasserie delivers that. If you’re looking for professional service and value for money, this is not the place. For me and my household, it is not a return visit.

  Best experience overall! We came to Tamarind for a late lunch,and from the moment we arrived until the end,everything went well. Food was very good and service was a zoo notch. I highly recommended this restaurant for all your indoor and outdoor activities.

  Tamarind Brasserie delivers a lovely garden restaurant experience with a blend of indoor comfort and outdoor charm. The setting is peaceful and green, with glass walled indoor dining, a spacious patio, pergola style seating, gazebos, and lush garden lawns great for both casual meals and special occasions. The menu offers a varied selection that mixes international and local flavours from seafood plates and grilled specials to continental dishes and vegetarian friendly options. Portions are generous, the food is well prepared, and there’s a good range of meals for different tastes and dietary preferences. The service is friendly and attentive, and Tamarind is especially popular for relaxed lunches, family meals, weekend dinners, or gatherings. #EatOutApproved!

  TL/DR: Come here if you prefer lush ambience over the quality of food/service Food: Nothing to write home about here. It’s not bad, but it doesn’t come close to wowing either. Bread was dry and borderline stale, meat was average etc. no need for specifics It met the basics: - No red flags raised by your taste buds - Supplies nutrients to your body 🤷‍♂️ - No food poisoning I would not consider the food/drinks value for money. I.e. what I paid for vs what I got Service: Came on a pretty slow day, not much was happening. Sat in the garden. Took forever to get served though and the waiters weren’t rude but I can’t say they were a joy to converse with either. Let’s just say I’d rather have ordered from an app. Parking: Can get full but they tend to have a decent amount of parking Would only go back if someone had planned an event here and invited me. And I couldn’t change their mind.

  Tamarind Brasserie, situated at Dari Office Park, on Ngong Road in Nairobi's Karen neighborhood, offers a serene garden setting ideal for family gatherings and group outings. The restaurant features both indoor and outdoor seating, including gazebos and a spacious patio, providing a relaxed and elegant dining atmosphere. During our lunch visit, I ordered the Fully Loaded burger with fries, followed by a cheesecake and ice cream dessert. The service was prompt, and despite the restaurant being busy, the staff attentively catered to our family group. The generous portions and flavorful dishes exceeded our expectations. Tamarind Brasserie is particularly family-friendly, offering a play park and ample safe space for children to enjoy. A delightful surprise was the presence of bunnies in the garden, which our kids loved. The restaurant's menu blends international cuisine with local Kenyan flavors, featuring seafood, African, and continental dishes. In summary, Tamarind Brasserie provides a welcoming environment with delicious food and excellent service, making it a top choice for those seeking quality local cuisine in Nairobi. We highly recommend it and look forward to returning.
