  Tucked away a bit off the main road around the bend in Naivasha just before Camp Carnelly's is a genuine chinese restaurant. There is plenty of space and parking inside the compound which is behind a large gate. The menu is a sheet a paper with both mandarin and english translations. To be fair you should consult the waitress because the menu is quite minimalist. Of note, the portion sizes are massive especially the entrees which could easily feed a group of 6. They do not take credit card so bring cash or use mpesa. The scenery is beautiful with a somewhat creaky dock that stretches onto Lake Naivasha. Lots of native and not so native fauna around. The dogs and cats are quite friendly and are skilled at guilt tripping you into feeding them.

  Food: Ordered some egg fried rice and fried beef and this was amazing! The quantity was enough for two people but they graciously packed it for me. Ambience: It’s right next to the lake but it’s not that aesthetically pleasing. It’s not bad either though. You can hear (and sometimes see) hippos in the distance though. The tables and seats look and feel like a local bar that serves keg as the fanciest drink (I mention this specifically because the price of the food should equal better facilities) The flickering lights in the bathrooms was just painful 🥲 Sat outside for the breeze but got a lot of bugs instead and it gets chilly really fast. Didn’t help that the chef was sitting there providing me with a generous amount of secondhand cigarette-smoke(and it was the choking kind) Extra info: The gate is almost always closed, I’d actually left after knocking until I managed to see someone over the fence and went back

  Amazing food! Amazing views! And not to mention affordable too. Such a cute place to go with your loved once and make good memories. Be sure to try the Chinese wine!

  Didn‘t expect to get such excellent Chinese food hidden behind a metal gate right at the shore of Lake Naivasha. Huge portions, great Veggie-options, lovely lake view. Literally a hidden gem!

  A true hidden gem in Naivasha! We love great, authentic Chinese food, and Hubei is as great and authentic as you can get. Amazingly fresh, the crayfish are scooped up from the nets in the lake, 50m away and delivered to your table. The vegetables are all grown on the property, too. Maggie our server was amazing, making honest recommendations that were spot on. The place was wiped out during the floods, but they have rebuilt with a nice new building with a patio directly facing the water. Don't expect fancy, this is a real Chinese seaside kind of experience, but boy is the food great.
