Absolutely magical place in an amazing, peaceful location. Waking up to a full lake view right from the room is calm, surreal, and endlessly beautiful — staff are wonderful and the room is very clean with a comfortable bed.

    Joy has an incredible story. It's worth visiting Elsamere Lodge in Naivasha to enjoy a moment of connecting with the history of Joy.

    Absolutely magical place in an amazing, peaceful location. Yes the bathrooms would do with a refresh but it didn't affect the experience. The room was very clean and bed comfortable. Staff were absolutely amazing and the home cooked food was so good, much better than in some of the more luxurious lodges. The whole experience was magical and intimate as there are only 10 lodges. Security guard would alert us if there were wild animals that we missed, we saw giraffes, warthogs, zebras and hippos basically on our doorstep.

    Our family of eight stayed at the lodge in August 2025 in 3 separate rooms. Overall, we enjoyed the location, food and the service. Seeing animals so close up was amazing. However, the rooms really need to be maintained, our bathroom in particular was in terrible condition.

    One of the most magical places I’ve ever stayed in Naivasha. Waking up to a full lake view right from the room is an experience in itself — calm, surreal, and endlessly beautiful. The lake is just steps away, and watching the annual rose bloom freely in the breeze adds a soft, dreamlike touch to the whole setting. It’s not just a stay, it’s a moment of stillness and natural beauty you carry with you. Highly recommended for anyone seeking peace, scenery, and something truly special.

    Beautiful location by lake Naivasha. Food was fresh. Service was good. Very few animals, just warthogs , monkeys and lots of birds The museum is all Joy's and George's personal effects. Her paintings were amazing. She was very talented. The film was rather dull. Not sure I'll go there again.
