  While visiting Malindi, we had a dinner at Bar Bar and were really pleased on the service as team was very considerate and responsive. They provided us mosquitoes repellent as well. Food was good in taste as well as quite generous in terms of portion size. Price was in higher side. There was live music, a bit louder but depends on the individuals choice as to have more time and convenience to chit chat while dinning or enjoy music. For me it was bit challenging to respond calls, and I had to step out and sit in the car. The atmosphere within restaurant was okay but entrance was packed with beggars and people asking for money. For whole time we sat for dinner, we remained worried about someone thrifting away with side mirrors or any other external part from our vehicle.

  Tasty and reasonably priced. Friendly staff. Very extensive menu. You can put together your own sandwiches. They occasionally offer fresh oysters too

  First place that was open in Malindi suggested by our Tuktuk driver . Beautiful relaxed dining area with an extensive menu . The staff are most welcoming and helpful . Our meal was delicious the flavours for a start and the presentation along with generous portions . I will eat everyday of my stay here . Well done Barbar .

  The restaurant had its ups and downs. The service was truly excellent, with the waiters being really nice and attentive, earning a solid 4 out of 5 stars from me in that category. However, the wait for the pasta felt like an eternity, and when it finally arrived, the soup wasn't at the correct temperature, which was a bit disappointing. For food, I'd give them 2 out of 5 stars due to these issues. The atmosphere was quite pleasant, getting a full 5 out of 5 stars – it was a nice place to be. Overall, while the service and atmosphere were commendable, the kitchen really needs to step up its game in terms of food quality and speed.

  My visit to Bar Bar was disappointing overall. Service was slow - placing an order took too long, and the wait for food was even worse. The masala dish lacked flavor and was served in a small portion, with no salt or condiments provided to enhance it. The Swahili pizza, topped with pineapple, chicken, mozzarella, and tomato, was a letdown, featuring a burnt, hard crust. While the live music was enjoyable, it couldn’t compensate for the poor dining experience. Additionally, the allowance of smoking indoors was unpleasant, especially for non-smokers, and the mango juice was overly bitter. Bar Bar shows potential but needs major improvements in food quality, service, and ambiance.
