    My local friend and I enjoyed a first visit to Attela Beach Resort this week. Our waitress Adhiambo gave us excellent friendly service. Settling into our big squidgy cushioned chairs with a lovely view of the lake put us in the mood to try puffing on a shisha pipe. All very pleasant! We ordered some samosas and a portion of bhaji. The tasty food went down well and we left feeling good about the place. Unfortunately, this feeling didn’t last long for me. Within half an hour of arriving home i began to feel unwell. I felt acutely nauseous and developed a high temperature. I felt very ill and prepared myself to deal with vomiting and diarrhoea. It was a clear case of food poisoning and the prime suspect was the bhaji, because I was the only one to eat it and I had enjoyed it to the last mouthful! I felt dreadful for a couple of hours and excused myself from eating supper with my lovely hosts. I sipped a little water and fell asleep on my bed. Happily i slept until about midnight then woke up feeling much better. My 3 stars for food may seem generous in the circumstances but i really liked the place and hope the management can respond by quickly tightening up on food hygiene.     We ordered a platter that normally comes with pork, but the waitress didn’t inform us that there was an option to choose either pork or beef. They brought us the platter with beef instead, and unfortunately, it was mostly bones. I was disappointed that the waitress didn’t take the time to explain the options clearly. The food overall was rather bland, with the exception of the samosas, which were quite good. On a positive note, the restaurant offers a great view of Lake Victoria and has some cute photo spots. I just wish they would improve their service and enhance the quality and flavor of the food.

    The sunset photos here are magnificent. Food is a 10/10, enough to eat to your fill and doesn't get long to be prepared. The waiters are swift and warm. Be prepared, the place is jam packed and busy.

    Beach Bar and Restaurant worthy your money. The vibes here are fantastic, nice music sets ( various genres) and their platters are finger licking. Loved every bit although came for some sunsets that didn't get due to the wet weather. And they've got boat rides too.

    It offers nice view of the lake. The place has plenty of seating available. They have really maximized the use of the space. We stayed there till late and the music was good too. The food is just alright. The only drawback is that they close up pretty early, but that is just a matter of preference.
