  Our journey began at Sheeba’s in Nairobi, and it was the perfect start to our trip. After a 10-hour flight from London, the peaceful surroundings and warm welcome were just what we needed. It was so tranquil and restorative - we felt completely recharged before heading out on safari. A special thank you to Stephen and his son, who drove us so safely and kindly throughout our journey. From there, we travelled to Alex Walker’s Serian in Mara North, staying at Kimya Kimya Camp, and it was unforgettable. Charles, Scott, Daniel, and the entire team were simply wonderful. Their kindness, attention to detail, and genuine warmth made every moment feel so special. The food and drinks were fantastic, the views were breathtaking, and nothing was ever too much trouble. A huge thank you to Adrian and Roch, who manage such an incredible camp. Everything ran so seamlessly - from the comfort of the tents to the thoughtful touches throughout our stay, it was perfection. The moonlit bath was one of the most romantic experiences we’ve ever had - an absolute highlight of our trip. And our guides, Joseph and Dennis, were exceptional: so knowledgeable, kind, and passionate about the wildlife. They always made sure we were the first at any sighting, which meant every drive felt thrilling and exclusive. We’re still in touch with them even after leaving! Finally, a heartfelt thank you to Billy from Serian for arranging everything so beautifully. From start to finish, every detail was flawless. We can’t recommend Serian highly enough - it really was the most magical experience from beginning to end.

  ⭐️ Warmth and Wilderness in the Heart of the Serengeti⭐️ Our family’s stay at Alex Walker’s Serian was nothing short of extraordinary. Nestled in the Lamai Wedge of the Serengeti, this camp embodies the essence of being “Wild Yet Responsible.” From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with warmth, authenticity, and genuine care by our hosts. Their whole team–especially our phenomenal guide, Michael, and ever-gracious hostess, Esther–made us feel not just like guests, but like part of the Serian family. Each day brought a new sense of awe. The exclusive-use vehicles meant we had our own private guide and spotter, making literally every outing a spectacular experience, rich with unhurried sightings of extraordinary wild animals. It’s no wonder they’re known for having the highest-rated guiding team in Tanzania. We spent long, quiet hours with elephants, lions, leopards, and cheetahs — often with no other vehicles in sight. That solitude in the wild, the space away from crowds, was priceless. Serian invites you to reconnect with nature — there’s no Wi-Fi, just meaningful conversations by the campfire and dinner table, the sound of the wind through the grass, and blissful silence under the stars. If you’re seeking a safari that balances true wildness with thoughtful stewardship, Alex Walker’s Serian – Lamai is a gem. It’s not just a destination — it’s an awakening.

  A beautiful spot right on the river - great tent rooms and service is top notch! Steve is an absolute gem of a guide - so patient and knowledgeable! Food was great - people are lovely and the animals are amazing (we saw serval cat and kittens!) highly recommend!

  Serian lodges are the benchmark - for authentic safari experiences it doesn't get any better. I have visited three of the lodges and all are perfection. The best guides, amazing food, best locations, etc. I can't say enough! Our game viewing at The Original was top notch. The vibe of the camp is spot on and the service is exceptional... It doesn't get any better, I can't wait to get back - my ultimate happy place.

  Stayed 4 nights at this mobile camp on our twelve night, 4 camp Serengeti safari. Witnessed 5 spectacular river crossings during our stay. Meals were innovative and tasty Alex and his staff are dedicated to provide a unique personalized bush experience. The guides are professional and experts at getting guests in correct positions for amazing encounters and photographic memories. Really can't say enough on the coordination and cooperation of everyone to make this camp a unique treasure.
