  IF YOU ARE THINKING OF STAYING AT THIS HOTEL, READ THIS REVIEW FOR YOUR MENTAL HEALTH: Our stay at the hotel was initially good, so I won’t complain about that part. But what happened afterwards, and the extremely poor service we received, is definitely not worthy of a so-called “luxury hotel” for which you pay an absolute fortune per night. We booked an airport transfer through the hotel that turned into our worst nightmare. A 5–6 hour transfer turned into 9, as the transfer arranged by the hotel first showed up half an hour late, didn’t know how to get to the airport (getting lost several times), and drove recklessly. The van was not in proper condition for such a trip: it had no suspension, lacked basic hygiene, and overall was unfit for travel. On the hotel’s website, they promise transfers in the best conditions and in full compliance with safety regulations. Let me tell you, that’s just for show, because they absolutely do not deliver. This succession of horrors—during which we even got sick—caused us to miss our flight, and as a result, we were stuck for two entire days in a Nairobi hotel waiting to catch the next flight, with all the financial losses that entails. Naturally, after what happened, we expressed our complaints to every email address and phone number we could find. To make matters worse, if it hadn’t been for me insisting nonstop until I got a reply, they would have simply ignored us. It took 15 days to receive an answer, and I imagine it was only because they got tired of me writing. Unsurprisingly, they refused to take any responsibility, despite the fact that we lost a lot of money, and worst of all, the emotional toll it took—our annual vacation was ruined, and the stress lasted for weeks. This was directly their responsibility for offering the service. If they consider it an external company, that’s fine, but if you advertise it and sell it, you must take responsibility. That’s why, to future travelers reading this review, I strongly advise you to choose another place to stay. There are equally beautiful, and even cheaper, options right in the middle of the Mara Reserve, and I recommend them for your peace of mind. If you encounter any problem here, they will completely ignore you. I think that insecurity alone is reason enough to invest your money elsewhere. For your mental health and to ensure an amazing trip, book another accommodation—you’ll thank me later.

  We were booked to check in on 11/9/2025 (x3 rooms for 6 guests). During check in at room 3, the tent was found to be opened by 3 monkeys, the food consumed and fecal matter on the floors. This was escalated to the butler and management, who were apologetic and have promised to be promptly and thoroughly clean the room. We did ask for a room change, but were informed that the hotel was fully booked. We understand that such things could happen as it’s not our first Safari and have had similar incidents before (in Thailand and Bali) but not as bad. We continued on our excursions throughout the day and came up after 10pm to find a foul smell and fecal matter remaining on the floor next to the bed (photo uploaded). Keep in mind that the reception is closed and no staff were found. We had to look for the directory in the room to the manager’s number which we had to Whatsapp and call. Naturally we were extremely upset as the property is deemed a 5 star hotel but unfortunately lacks basic hygiene and cleanliness. When we escalated to the manager over the phone, their reply was that the butler assured them that they cleaned the room thoroughly and we were asked to send photographic evidence rather than them offering to send someone to check the issue in person. Completely unprofessional. They ended up coming in person and were apologetic and offered to clean the room again (at that point it was close to midnight). They did not offer any compensation until we asked for one and were only able to offer “free items” from their gift shop. We were told that financial compensation is not possible after speaking to the management at the main office. I asked for an email so I contact them personally but the email bounced back. Overall, I do not recommend staying here as the rating is misleading and the service does not live up to the 5 star standard.

  A wonderful experience. The location is unbeatable for hippo viewing, and our tent—with its own butler—offered complete privacy despite the lodge being well occupied. The grounds are stunning, with multiple lookout spots, a bridge over the Maasai River, and a relaxing spa for post–game drive unwinding. Meals were generous 4-course offerings with great wine selections, and the staff was consistently warm and accommodating. The design, service, and serenity created the perfect atmosphere for pure relaxation.

  This was an excellent choice for our first trip to Kenya! The hotel/resort/camp was amazing, with exceptional staff and service. Daniel, our butler, was fantastic, always there with a smile for laundry, coffee, or turndown service, and even guided us back to our tent at night. Robert, the waiter, served us with a smile and ensured we had the best meals, thanks to the chef. Our safari guide, Emmanuel, was outstanding, showing us everything we wanted in Masai Mara. Manager John and guest relations head Sharon were also incredible. It’s the best luxury camp in my opinion!

  Very nice place a little outside of the main Masai Mara conservancy. We really enjoyed the beautiful tent, the great service and the location at Mara River, featuring the relaxing noises of the water and the hippos at night 🦛 The service is very kind and extremely professional - we loved having Gibson as a waiter, who was so knowledgeable about Masai culture. Also Kelvin was very nice and engaging as a bar man. Finally, thanks to Joseph who took care of anything else around our stay and the tent, which just worked seamlessly. Personally, we really liked the Kenyan food options and would encourage to focus on serving more of those rather than European / western food. As someone from Europe. The only consideration to make when booking this place, is that it’s a 30-40 minute drive to the Masai Mara gates. Since it’s located in Mara North, a community conservancy, you will see animals such as Zebras, Gazelles, giraffes and sometimes even hyenas on your way into Masai Mara, but for your game drives you will have a way to factor in every day.
