  From the moment we arrived at Enkusera Mara, it was clear that this was going to be something very special. We have been fortunate enough to travel widely, but this experience stands in a league of its own. Enkusera is a small, beautifully run lodge in a spectacular and peaceful setting, perfectly placed for exploring the Mara. With only three rooms, it offers a level of privacy and calm that is increasingly hard to find. Even when other guests were present, the lodge never felt busy or impersonal - instead it retained a relaxed, exclusive atmosphere where you genuinely feel looked after as an individual rather than just another booking. What makes Enkusera even more remarkable is that it remains locally owned. In an area dominated by large operators, staying somewhere run by Kenyan owners felt refreshingly authentic and added real depth to the experience. It was wonderful to know that our stay directly supported local people and the surrounding community. The accommodation is exceptional. Our room was spacious, elegant, and thoughtfully designed, with uninterrupted views across the Mara that were simply breathtaking. Throughout the lodge, traditional elements are blended seamlessly with comfort and style, and the attention to detail is evident everywhere. Days were spent relaxing by the pool or in the lounge areas, while evenings around the firepit with a drink in hand quickly became a favourite ritual. The food was outstanding. Robert’s cooking was consistently exceptional, with each meal carefully prepared and beautifully presented. Every day brought something new, balancing local influences with international flavours, and each meal felt genuinely special. The surprise bush dinner arranged towards the end of our stay was a highlight and perfectly captured the creativity and care that defines Enkusera. The people are what truly set this place apart. William, the owner, leads with warmth, generosity and a genuine passion for what he has created. Alex, our Masai warrior and spotter, was phenomenal - incredibly knowledgeable, endlessly patient, and always determined to make every game drive memorable. Lowrie brought everything together, welcoming us with warmth and ensuring every detail of our stay was effortless and enjoyable. Behind the scenes, the wider team work seamlessly and with such pride, creating an atmosphere that feels both professional and deeply personal. The safaris themselves were unforgettable. William and Alex consistently went above and beyond, often staying out longer and showing incredible patience to allow moments to unfold naturally. One particularly unforgettable experience was waiting quietly and being rewarded with a cheetah emerging from the grass and passing incredibly close to our vehicle. Even on our final day, when no drive was scheduled, Alex kindly took us out to see a herd of elephants with their calves - a gesture that perfectly sums up the generosity and care shown throughout our stay. Enkusera also offers excellent value, with everything included - meals, drinks, park fees and laundry - making the experience refreshingly straightforward and transparent compared to many other lodges. For anyone seeking a boutique, private safari experience that is personal, authentic and rooted in local ownership, Enkusera Mara is exceptional. It is a place shaped by the people who run it, and that is what makes it unforgettable. We left with full hearts, incredible memories, and a strong desire to return.

  I had the pleasure of staying at the camp at the end of October this year. It was truly an amazing experience! First off, transport to and from the airport was arranged by the camp which made things seamless. Travelling with a group of 6, we practically had the camp to ourselves. It's a beautiful non-fenced camp which made the experience even more amazing. Rooms were great, with very comfortable and stylish bathrooms( We were told the owner is quite the designer). It was a surreal experience waking up to wild animals roaming just a stone's throw away from the camp. Staff were very friendly(even great with kids- especially Mesenka, Amos and Dominic) and we got to know a lot of them on a personal basis. Food was amazing, courtesy of Chef Robert, and team- a mixture of both local and contemporary food with amazing desserts(thanks to Jennifer!). We even had packed meals for those early starts/longer drives. The game drives were exhilarating, with William and Alex getting us amazing close ups. The camp staff made sure we had the most comfortable experience and I can't thank them enough. 10/10 would highly recommend!

  Absolutely amazing stay at Enkusero Camp! The whole team went above and beyond to make our experience unforgettable. They did everything possible to show us as many animals as they could — and they truly delivered! We managed to see four out of the Big Five, including a rhino, which is incredibly rare (only about 12 in the entire park!). That really shows their professionalism and deep knowledge of the area. The food was top-notch, the hospitality was exceptional, and we felt completely cared for throughout our stay. On our last night, they even surprised us with a special dinner, which made the experience even more memorable. And the best part? Zebras grazing right in our garden! Truly a magical place — warm people, great energy, and unforgettable moments. Highly recommended! 🌿🦓🦁

  Our first time in the Mara, and we chose Enkusero Mara based on the raving reviews – and it turned out to be nothing short of exceptional. From the very start of the booking process to the last day of our stay, everything was handled with professionalism, warmth, and a flexibility that made the experience feel truly tailored to our needs. We were traveling with a toddler, and the staff went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and cared for. Many hotels promise “a home away from home,” but at Enkusero Mara it genuinely felt like we were at home. What stood out most was the authenticity of the entire place, the depth of institutional knowledge the staff shared, and the passion they showed on every game drive. They were just as invested in our experience as we were – from witnessing the great migration, to spotting 4 of the Big 5 on our very first outing, to learning countless mini-facts from our guide along the way. It wasn’t just a safari; it was an education, and it made every drive unforgettable. The food was consistently excellent – fresh, flavorful, and presented with finesse. The rooms were spotless, well-kept, and every request was met with a smile. Our 8-night stay was truly magical, and we honestly can’t wait to return. A special thank you to William, Alex, Amos, Meshenka, Robert, Moses, Dominique, Merero, Jennifer, Laurine and the entire team who always went the extra mile.
