    I visited this restaurant recently and found the location to be quite appealing, with a nice atmosphere and easy accessibility. The service was average—staff were courteous but not very attentive, which slightly affected the experience. Hygiene, however, is an area that needs improvement, as a cleaner environment would create a more welcoming dining space. I also tried their gelato, which was just average and didn’t really stand out in terms of flavor or texture. Overall, the restaurant has potential, but with more focus on service quality, hygiene, and food standards, it could become a much more enjoyable dining destination.

    We had lunch several times in the restaurant, and coffee many times. It isca bit confusing at first that the coffee guys operate independently in the restaurant setting. Reasonable coffee. Friendly staff. Great brownies. Pizza is also good, as is the curry.

    I stayed at Shella Behari in November 2024 with my 2 daughters for 3 days and had an incredible time. The location of the hotel is well located and the services we received is impeccable. The best part is that the place is owned my locals and not foreigners and being able to support locals was just bonus. I 100% recommend Shella Behari especially if you want to experience Lamu.

    Great location and beautiful architecture, BUT the hotel rooms are way overpriced. Despite the high cost of our room ($135 per night for a rather small double bedroom), there was no bathroom mat, no shower gel, no shampoo, and no bottles of water provided. The shower and the sink were not very clean upon our arrival. In a nutshell, decent hotel with a nice view on the sea and a good breakfast, but too expensive for what it is.
