  I stayed at Samaki House for three days. Moses is a great host who does everything he can to make my stay as pleasant as possible. Since I was the only guest at the time, I was free to choose my dinners, and Moses provided the ingredients and even cooked for a reasonable fee. You get exactly what you see on booking websites. The house is in typical Swahili style, relatively dark. Appropriate decor, and there's a separate breakfast area that leads directly to the rooftop terrace. The room is small, functionally furnished, and clean. There are power outlets and a fan. The accommodation is within sight of the piers. The view from the rooftop terrace is very nice. The price-performance ratio is absolutely fine, and if you have any problems, Moses is always a friendly and accommodating contact person who is happy to help. I would book Samaki House again for a short trip to Lamu.

  Moses is a great host, super friendly and knows Lamu well. He put me in touch with a local guide for a visit, for a very fair price. I stayed 2 nights during low season. The small room that's a little bit outside of the house however could be better. It faces a carpenter shop just outside in the street - and it gets very, very noisy! Lamu is not a quiet town, but this is extreme. I would recommend booking the family room that's inside of the house, it should be better. The small room also doesn't have hot water, and the fan is too slow to be very useful, so it gets too warm inside the room.

  I loved our stay here. This house is super beautiful and affordable for a budget. Located in the city of Lamu, close to the center, museum, port, shops and restaurants. But it's important to know that the location on google map is not correct, it is not close to Shela, there's a 30 minute walk to Shela beach.

  A beautifully designed and furnished house located in the old town of Lamu, however the location pin is wrong and you need assistant from the staff to reach the house, we stayed in the honeymoon room, the room was fantastic in terms of design, space and cleanliness, although it lacked a good air circulation, so it was pretty hot at night and I did not sleep well in this room. Moses the care taker of the place did this very nice cooking for us upon our request and we were very happy about it. In general it worth the value for the money and the charm of the place made us satisfied. P.S. the house is located next to a mosque, so you will be hearing the Azan (call of the prayer) every morning at 4-5 AM.
