  Hands down the best(est) (I'm being silly here) the Bestest Expats restaurant in Nanyuki. Bella is a tremendous owner and host. Very welcoming. Delicious starters and entrees. This restaurant is more of a $$$-$$$$ price tag for the area, but it is definitely worth the extra KES. The service is special and it comes with a smile, a joke, or a laugh, yiu can take your pick. I highly recommend The Hungry Caterpillar to out of towners

  Based on google map reviews, I decided to give this restaurant a try and boy was I blown away! The ambience has a tropical forest like feeling with a fire place towards the very end. Fast forward to the food. I love my experience at the Hungry Caterpillar. Being a quiet Wednesday evening at the restaurant, I engaged the two kind and cheerful servers (Anthony and Irene) to recommend the best meal that will leave me smiling until morning. In between the conversation, the owner too, Bella, also came in to say hello and offer her recommendation. Such a courteous and warm way to welcome a new customer. I went with their recommendation - the steak and kidney pie. That was a 5 star meal. The portion was just right, the pie was straight out of the oven so the crust was crispy and buttery, the meat and kidney so tender and flavourful. Such a delightful experience that deserves a second and third visit. All in all, I highly recommend this restaurant for their warm service and amazing food.

  This place is an absolute gem! I came with two friends and we loved our experience at The Hungry Caterpillar. The staff were friendly and welcomed us with smiles. The ambience was calm and peaceful in contrast to the busy street outside which was a pleasant surprise. We ordered the Steak and Kidney Pie, Fish Pie and Prawn and Avocado rolls for our mains. Each of us cleaned our plates! So delicious 😋 We finished off with a shared a Sticky Toffee Pudding and it was perfect! The owners have done a fantastic job with this place in such a short time since opening. If you're in Nanyuki town and want a quality meal, I would highly recommend The Hungry Caterpillar.

  Absolutely loved The Hungry Caterpillar!! The food is fresh, flavourful and honestly so delicious. You can taste the care that goes into every dish. The cocktails are beautifully made too. Customer service was exceptional, thanks to the lovely owner Bella (It was so lovely meeting you 🥰), who was so generous and friendly. You can tell everything here is intentional and made with love. My only regret? Getting full too soon and having to hit the road, otherwise I’d have happily stayed for seconds. Can’t wait to come back! First time in Nanyuki and I found a gem!!

  The Hungry Caterpillar is wonderful - tonight I had the Special Fish Cakes to start, and the meatballs & tagliatelle for main - all delicious and clearly homemade. The atmosphere was good tonight with a bigger group & another family. Bella is a great hostess, and takes the time to talk to everyone & check in. A brilliant addition to the food scene of Nanyuki.
