    Mabuhay is a dream. Located at an unpeopled pier along Kilifi Creek, it presents one with unrestrained tranquility. The wind rushes in strong throughout the day, keeping your mind fresh and present. The first time I came here I experienced one of the friendlist, hospitable people I've ever met - Annabel, Mabuhay' manager. The warm lights in the evening, supplemented by a warm bonfire set the perfect tone for a night of poetry reading. I came back at daytime a few months later to work and found it provided enough quiet interspersed by the natural sounds of the sea for one to get into a state of flow. Mabuhay is indeed a hidden gem.

    When you've just about given up, you'll find this restaurant, tucked at the very spirally bottom of the Mandharini housing resort (that's not exactly what it's called). The restaurant area is right by the creek and like with all ocean front establishments along the coast, the view sells itself. We came here based on the food and ambience reviews. To get to the point, the view was wonderfully relaxing, the food was fairly good, the portions were less than adequate for the price point which is as high as many a 5 star restaurant in Nairobi. If you are looking for a hidden away place in a beautiful and relaxed setting to get away from the bustle for a couple of hours, Mandhirini fits the bill perfectly.
