  It was a nice experience. We saw different animals. The park is large. We did not cover the entire park though we traversed in the park since morning.

  Meru National Park is where Kenya breathes in its rawest form. A vast, untamed wilderness sculpted by rivers, doum palms, and endless skies. Here, the land tells stories older than time—of roaming giants, stealthy hunters, and the delicate balance of survival. This is the land of Elsa, where conservation found a soul and nature reclaimed its voice. Lions patrol the grasslands, elephants move like living monuments, and buffalo stand their ground with quiet authority. The rivers—Tana, Rojewero, and Ura—cut through the park like lifelines, drawing life to their banks. Meru is not loud. It doesn’t perform. It simply *exists*—wild, honest, and free. A reminder that some places don’t need crowds to prove their greatness. They only need time, silence, and respect. Meru National Park — untouched, unfiltered, unforgettable.

  I went with my extended family. It was free for 5 years olds and below. 17 years olds and below were charged Ksh. 500 and above 17 years olds were charged Ksh. 800. We paid Ksh. 4000 for a tour guide. The tour guide fee doesn't change whether it's a solo game drive or a group game drive. The park is 870km2. The park has a rhino Sanctuary that's soo big. That's where rhinos stay. The park has 14 rivers. In the park, we saw buffalos, giraffes, waterbucks, gazelles, rhinos, elephants, zebras, monkeys, hippopotamus and crocodiles. We entered the park at 10:30a.m and left at 3p.m. We enjoyed the game drive 😄 The staff at the gate were soo friendly and polite. LET'S PROTECT OUR WILD ANIMALS!!

  Solid park but compared to Ol Pejeta Conservatory (for animals) and Aberdares National Park (for temperature, greenery during Oct), this one at Meru is a 4 star. Meru is warmer, drier than both. It does cool at night around 7pm to 60-70 degrees in October. The animals during the dry season, we saw giraffes, water bucks, a few jackals, a couple of elephants, and water buffalo. We did not catch any predators (lions or hyenas). The cabin (Banda) where we stayed is a 3 star. It’s a cabin with running water for shower and a brushing your teeth. Our toilet didn’t always flush but it’s fine. The caretakers (Eric and Wario) are nice guys who work 7 days a week for 3 months before taking a week long break. They cut some wood and started the fire at night 6-7pm (and we tipped them after the second night the following morning). Overall a 4 star. It’s about a 5-6 hour drive from Nairobi. We rented a 4x4 Toyota Prado and didn’t need to go off roading. You might need it but during the rainy season, you could get stuck so you’ll manage without it but better have it than not. Ps. The bar at the main east gate ripped me off. I paid 3000 KES for 3 beers and 3 cokes ($23). The beer was 600KES even though the sign (decoration) said 250 KES.

  The place is awesome. Didn't get to see all animals but the guest house is great and the staff are just the best
