  Possibly the best ever stay in a location and we’ve been fortunate to have many over the years. Truly Fabulous hospitality and experience at Salas Camp!   Sala’s Camp in the Masai Mara was an absolute dream, and experiencing it during our honeymoon made it even more special. From the moment we arrived, everything about the camp felt intimate, thoughtful, and deeply connected to the magic of the Mara. The camp itself is stunning—elegant yet understated, blending seamlessly into the landscape along the Sand River. The tents are beautifully designed, incredibly comfortable, and perfectly positioned to make you feel immersed in nature while still enjoying true luxury. Waking up to the sounds of the Mara and watching wildlife pass through felt surreal and deeply romantic. What truly made our experience exceptional was the people. Our guide, Dominic, and spotter, Jonathan, were outstanding. Their knowledge, intuition, and teamwork were unmatched, leading to some of the most incredible wildlife sightings we could have imagined. Beyond their expertise, they brought so much warmth, humor, and care to every game drive, making each moment feel personal and unforgettable. The entire staff at Sala’s Camp went above and beyond to make our honeymoon feel celebrated in the most genuine way. The service was impeccable—warm, attentive, and effortless—creating an atmosphere where you can fully relax and soak in every moment. The food was exceptional, with beautifully prepared meals enjoyed in breathtaking settings, from a hot breakfast in the bush to the riverside lunches and dinners at the camp. Every detail, big and small, was handled with intention and heart. Sala’s Camp is not just a safari lodge—it’s an experience that feels soulful, romantic, and profoundly special. As a honeymoon destination, it exceeded every expectation, and thanks to the incredible team, it will forever be one of the most meaningful trips of our lives.

  Traditional tented safari with modern comforts. Fantastic setting for river crossings during migration season. Conservation partnerships and frequent sightings of lions, elephants, leopards, and more. Great for: Families and classic safari enthusiasts.

  This lodge with a focus on conservation is the best that Kenya has to offer! Our safari guides Jackson and Freddy are WORLD-CLASS animal experts and spotters. They allowed us to experience animal behavior up close and personal in the Mara, and always in a safe manner. We saw a cheetah kill, babies of all species (lions, elephants, hyenas) and even uncommon sightings such as a lion pride stealing a leopard kill, a boomslang and spitting cobra, and serval cats. The open-air safari vehicles made viewing easy, and the guides kindly positioned me for photos of birds such as the lilac-breasted roller, ostrich, and Marabou stork. All of the Maasai staff were extremely kind, hospitable, and went out of their way to provide guests with an amazing experience. James was our server and shared both lifelong knowledge of the Mara and his recipe for chicken kienyeji soup! Eric and William shared their stories around the nightly campfire and helped us spot some giraffes. Maasai “night warriors” safely escorted us between our tents and the common areas in the dark hours. Dominic was also a very hospital server and the food from the chef is top-notch! The camp manager Caroline oversaw everything seamlessly. Sala’s is located far away from other camps at the south part of the park. Hippos and crocodiles venture into the riverbed which you can view from the common areas, and baboons and mongoose roam freely around camp during the daytime. You will not regret your stay at Sala��s and a few nights is the perfect safari addition for those wishing to stay at Giraffe Manor.

  Our stay at Sala's Camp was truly the best vacation ever, thanks to the people and the place. Caroline and Eric were the best hostesses, making us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. The luxury tents were exceptional, offering both comfort and a unique experience in the wilderness. The food was extraordinary, each meal a delightful culinary adventure. The game drives were the highlight of our trip, led by our outstanding guides Dominic and John. They were so fantastic at tracking and finding wildlife. We will always treasure our memories from our rides! We have made lifelong friends among the staff and fellow guests, proving that the warm and welcoming people in Africa truly make all the difference. We will definitely be back.
