  Great location right on the Mara River — with hippos and crocodiles right in view. We had plenty of hippo sightings, and at night the hippos even came up to the camp (don’t worry, security staff are always around to guide you if you need to step out). One morning, we even saw an elephant right outside the camp! The service was absolutely outstanding. Every staff member was warm and attentive, and the food was excellent — from hearty meals to packed breakfasts and lunches for safari days. The cooks were especially friendly, and you really feel a personal connection with everyone at camp. The rooms themselves felt five-star, with very comfortable beds. The camp is in Mara North, which means a slightly longer drive to the river crossings. But the trade-off is completely worth it — you avoid the crowds and convoys of vehicles. When we set out in the morning, ours was the only vehicle at the Mara North gate, giving us a peaceful and uninterrupted 2–3 hours of safari before meeting any other travelers. Highly recommend for both the location and the people who make the stay so special.

  An amazing experience and excellent top service I received from this camp. The manager, Elisha, the head housekeeping, the kitchen staff, the guards were all amazing, friendly, helpful, attentive, and polite. The room as well equipped, clean, and well designed. The camp is very beautiful, peaceful, and conveniently located at the bank of the river with many animals around which is perfect. And, the tour guide I had could not be better! Pesi, his name, is the very best tour guide you can hope for in the whole Massai Mara in my view. He perfectly knows all the details of the National Park, and found for me many exotic animals which many other guides were unable to find. The game drive experience with him worths every penny!

  We stayed at Mara River camp as part of a trip to celebrate our mother’s birthday. We stayed in a lot of great places but we definitely saved the best til last. Mara River Camp seems to be criminally under appreciated. Beautiful location, great tents, extremely attentive and warm service and great food. Nothing was too much trouble for Elijah and his team, we felt like royalty even down to getting hot water bottles in our beds every night and chocolates on the pillow. Pool was clean and always ready to use during the day. Would definitely come again and honestly fail to see why you would pay almost twice the price for other luxury camps when you can get it all here at a decent price. No brainer really!

  A Truly Authentic Safari Experience – 5 Stars! We’re surprised that Mara River Camp has been around for quite some time—everything feels so clean and well-maintained, it seems brand new! Our tent is nestled among bamboo and overlooking the Mara River, with views of hippos and crocodiles. The new manager, Elisha, runs the entire place smoothly. We truly love all the staff here—they’re attentive, welcoming and friendly. The camp has no fences, so zebras and giraffes sometimes wandered outside the tent at night—exactly the authentic safari experience we were hoping for. One of the staff (Lakanisa) would walk us back to our tent with flashlights to ensure our safety. He even guided us to see nearby elephants when weather allowed. The staff even performed a traditional cultural dance during dinner, such a joyful moment. The food was also freshly cooked and full of flavour. Their homemade chapatti’s especially superb! Overall, Mara River Camp exceeded our expectations with 5-star service. If you're looking for a comfortable, close-to-nature, and genuinely heartfelt safari experience, Mara River Camp is the place to be. Highly recommended!

  A wonderful camp resort located next to the Mara River. The manager is very friendly and helpful. The staffs are very well trained, courteous. We stayed for three nights and it is just one of the best. I mentioned that I feel cold in the tent and immediately hot water bottles were sent. This is impressive. Highly recommended.
