  The camp is simple but exactly what I expected for booking the budget accommodation for the safari. The people were so nice and friendly, the food was good and there were even vegetarian options. It was also clean and tidy. Yes, electricity was shut off during the night and you had to tell the staff to turn on the hot water before showering, but this was very well communicated when I arrived. Very nice place to stay!

  Very friendly atmosphere. The staff are very attentive. It's a simple hotel, but very nice. Hot water and electricity are supposed to stop at 11 pm and restart at 5 am. However, on the second day, the shower was cold, even after we told the staff twice. They provide a simple picnic lunch, but it's fine.

  Friendly and welcoming staff, always willing to help. The food was good and tasty, and the camp was simple but comfortable. A nice and authentic experience close to nature.

  This is the classic example of a common problem. This place is used by your companies, so get guaranteed business, don't need word of mouth recommendations so put in zero effort. TLDR - Stay somewhere else, there are much better options for only a little more money. The Good: 1. The evening meal tasted good (but with other issues see bad). 2. Close to the national park. 3. Bed was comfy The Bad 1. Very bare bones, everything is rough and looks like they ran out of money when building. 2. Hot water is only available on request and takes several minutes to be turned on. 3. Bathroom is not sealed so full of insects, lizards and spiders hiding in it. 4. Food choice is very limited and options are topped up over a period of up to 6 hours meaning some of the food sits there exposed to the elements and insects for that long. 5. No drinks of any kind provided, even water is from the bar cash only. 6. Tented room is very basic, cold uneven floor and one very small table. Switch hanging from the wall. 7. Staff are friendly when spoken to but do not make any effort to welcome you and are often hidden out of sight meaning waiting to request your hot water or to get a drink. 8. Packed lunch provided was awful. A set roll with a tiny slice of undefined luncheon meat, the driest chicken portion possible, a dry cupcake cheap yogurt and some fruit. The roll and chicken were essentially inedible and the rest was not filling. Very sad when compared to what other places were offering out. Safari's are long days. At the end you want to come back to some good food, a decent shower and somewhere you can relax. I was one of 8 people staying in the area in my group, the only one staying here. Everyone else liked their accomodation and food. It's not this is place is truly terrible, it's just that even for a budget place, the lack of care and run down nature are far below the reasonable standard id expect. Do yourself a favor and pay a little extra to stay elsewhere. It will improve your whole experience!

  We spent two nights at Mara Lenchada and it exceeded all our expectations. Instead of a tent, we were given a room, which was an amazing surprise – the room was very clean and well-maintained, we had absolutely no complaints. I was a bit worried after reading earlier reviews that there might not be hot water, but I’d like to highlight that there is always hot water at the camp! The only thing to remember is that you need to inform the staff before showering, so they can turn on the hot water for the tents. The staff had already told us about it when we arrived. The food! It far exceeded my expectations – breakfast, lunch, and dinner were all generous and delicious. For the full-day safari, we received a packed lunch filled with everything you could ask for: fruit, snacks, chips, juice, and yogurt – truly well thought out. The staff were all extremely kind, attentive, and helpful throughout our stay. We had no negative experiences whatsoever, and I can wholeheartedly recommend Mara Lenchada to anyone!
