  The food here was some of the most amazing we’d eaten (ever!) it was well balanced and diverse to cater to varied palates and presented in an artistic way (you could tell thought and passion went into making it) our compliments to the chefs. The service was prompt and consistent , Dennis at the bar and Francis our servers were excellent! My only reservation was the duvet in the room, far too warm for the weather, some large linen sheet would be sufficient (however this is only my opinion) ; the water in the room was not replaced (my room) yet there were empty bottles left out. Those weren’t taken out. Other than that, our stay was superb! Highly recommend this property. Buffalo springs in itself is a magical destination with the rare species of various animals that are only endemic to the area , so worth the visit

  Amazing sight! We’ve seen all kinds of animals, big and medium, crossing the river just in front of our bungalow! Totally worth mentioning that almost never have I ever seen such a caring staff: congrats and thank you to Francis at the restaurant, to the manager of the Surana Buffalo Springs and to the rest of the crew. I will definitely recommend you!

  A really nice place with kind service and a phenomenal location. Thanks a lot for making this part of our trip so memorable! We loved our stay at the Surana, particularly... - the location: it’s located in the middle of buffalo springs conservancy so you start your game drive at your doorstep. Due to the amazing view of the property you can even watch animals just when sitting in your room or at the pool - the service: everyone was very kind and attentive, especially Charlotte, Felix and Junior - thanks so much for your warm and welcoming way of hosting us! - the rooms: rooms are stylish and overall well equipped - the mini plunge pools are amazing to just wind down by yourself and enjoy the views Things I would’ve liked to know upfront (that don’t change my mind or giving this 5 stars and would definitely come back:-)): - drinks are not included, only 4 small bottles of water per room & day - this is something that we experienced different in other, similar places. - if you have a problem with geckos / lizards, this is not the place for you. I was greeted with lizard poo in my bed (and everywhere else in the hut) every single day and there were geckos everywhere in our room:-). Staff is attentive and when we first told them, they insisted to change our sheets but when we came back there was poo again. We got used to it, but some people might mind. - huts are very warm after the day so make sure you open the curtains a tiny bit to ensure air flowing through (or turn on the vent over the bed, if you like that)

  This had been an incredible experience: amazing service and hospitality, great F&B (a LOT of food!), the views and elephant trumpets are a delight to watch and the game drives are beautiful. The camp is relatively new and the interior design is outstanding. Only downside; the huts are quite warm at night, with only a fan.

  Best food in all of Kenya! Having stayed at a number of camps across numerous National reserves and different hotels from Mt Kenya to Nairobi over many years, I can without a doubt say that the food at Surana is the best I’ve ever had. Salads and mains were tasty and fresh. Most meals we chose the salad as our main as we didn’t feel like eating much in the heat. Fresh fruit option at every meal as well. Service was fantastic. Staff clearly well educated and knowledgeable in their areas. We were self driving and needed clarification on whether the bridge connecting Buffalo Springs and Samburu was open (google said it was shut) and the staff went above and beyond to check with one of their game drivers. Plunge pool was fantastic, proper cool pool with modern filters and maintenance (not just a plastic tub with chlorinated water like many other camps). Was very appreciated in the heat! Everyone in the Buffalo Springs/Samburu area were lovely, including other camp game drivers who were happy to share their Lion sightings with us! A big contrast to the Mara last year. Highly recommend Surana and the whole area for a less touristy laid back wilderness safari experience.
