  Our stay at Kicheche was, in one word - amazing! My wife and I spent our honeymoon there, since we always wanted to do a safari but never found the time. We can wholeheartedly recommend this place, especially if you are unsure about doing a safari. It was a wonderful start to our experience. That being said, we were a bit nervous coming to Kenya since it is quite remote (coming from Europe). While it is remote—make no mistake—you always feel very safe and at home, more so than we expected. Upon our arrival, a very nice guide picked us up and drove us to the lodge where we were greeted with an amazing view—and even more importantly by amazing staff. From the first moment—starting the car—everyone was super nice and helpful. Everyone seemed keen to make our stay as amazing as it could be. The conservancy up here is especially known for its rhino population, and we picked it for that reason. Not only did we get to see the rhinos, but we actually had breakfast when a group of Southern White Rhinos walked up near our spot and started grazing—truly an amazing and humbling experience. In the following couple of days, we saw some of the most amazing animals and had a lovely time with our guides. We were actually quite sad when it came time to leave because we really did feel at home in the bush. Anyone on the fence about going to Kenya—and in particular this conservancy—wonder no more. Go there, you will not regret it! 😊

  Kicheche Laikipia was our favorite camp of the trip. What makes it different is the way the team truly makes you feel like family — they talk to each guest, notice the little things, and ensure everyone’s needs are met. Emma managed everything with such care, even tailoring activities for both my 77-year-old parents and us in our 30s. They thought of every detail, from heated water bottles on game drives to personalized service at camp. The staff were incredible: Jamu noticed I skipped dinner and brought food to my room, Emmanuel crafted excellent drinks and remembered our favorites, and the chef’s meals were outstanding — you can feel the passion in his cooking. Our guide, Simon, was extraordinary: deeply knowledgeable, a natural storyteller, and even shared the constellations with us during a magical night drive. The tents were immaculate, refreshed multiple times a day with hot pads in the beds and warm showers ready when we returned. Every detail was perfect. We cannot recommend Kicheche Laikipia enough — incredible guiding, exceptional food and service, and a camp that welcomes you like family. We will be returning .

  This is a splendid camp beside a river which at this time of year was almost dry. You can watch animals drinking and mud bathing from the lawn. The accommodation is luxurious, safari drives excellent. The icing on the cake for this camp is the care, attention and friendliness of the staff. Thank you.

  Such a wonderful stay here with Anita and her team! Staff are outstanding, nothing is too much trouble and every small detail is thought of and planned for. The rooms are very well appointed with plenty of space for storage and relaxing and lovely hot showers. Loved the privacy of our terrace and little garden by our tent which looked out to the watering-hole where the animals gathered. The lodge food was delicious whether on-site or the bush breakfasts and sundowner “bitings”. Also a special mention to our friendly and extremely knowledgeable guide Peter who answered all our questions with patience and expertise, there was nothing he couldn’t answer! He really heightened our experience on the game drives!

  From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed like family at Kicheche. The staff were incredibly kind and made us feel right at home. Our tent was cozy, and the hot water bottles placed in our beds were a thoughtful touch, especially on the chilly evenings. The food was outstanding, full of flavor, and we particularly loved the make-your-own pizza lunch! The special touches for our honeymoon were so appreciated. Our guide, William, was exceptional—his knowledge of the wildlife in Ol Pejeta made every moment memorable. One of the most unforgettable experiences was visiting Morani and seeing the last two northern white rhinos in the world, while learning about the remarkable efforts being made to save the species. Thank you for everything—it was an unforgettable stay, and we can’t wait to return!
