Greatest food and service, and affordable! Been eating here 2 times a day for a week straight. 10/10, best place!

I had one of the most delightful dining experiences at [Restaurant Name] — a true gem for Swahili cuisine lovers! From the moment I walked in, the warm and welcoming atmosphere made me feel right at home. The staff were friendly, attentive, and passionate about sharing the rich flavors of Swahili coastal food. The menu was a celebration of authentic tastes — aromatic biryani, perfectly spiced pilau, and creamy coconut-infused dishes that truly transport you to the coast. Each bite was bursting with rich spices and fresh ingredients, beautifully reflecting the heritage of East African coastal cuisine. The portions were generous, and the presentation was inviting, making the meal feel both comforting and special. What I loved most was how every dish struck the right balance of bold flavor and tradition — a real treat for both first-timers and seasoned fans of Swahili food. Whether you’re grabbing lunch with friends or enjoying a relaxed dinner, this restaurant delivers great value and memorable food. Highly recommended for anyone craving authentic Swahili flavors in Nairobi — I’ll definitely be back! 🌴🍛✨

I used to love Mondo Grill,as a matter of fact this is the one restaurant I always recommend to my friends who are visiting Nairobi from overseas if they want good local/swahili food. However my most recent visit is nothing of what I have remembered. I always go for the Octopus platter, but on that particular day they don’t have octopus in the kitchen,no big deal, changed to grilled calamari instead, but when it came, what a shocker it was, just mortified! I mean this is suppose to be a main course dish, look how tiny the portion it is! This must be a joke or something, but no it is not! On top of that we ordered seafood pizza it literally took 2 and half hours to come,so late one of my friend even I have to leave because it just took forever. The pizza is good but not good enough to wait for that long. I guess it’s time to look for another Swahili restaurant because I would never recommend Mondo grill to anyone no more.

I had a really enjoyable time at this restaurant. The service was warm and attentive without being intrusive, and the staff made sure everything ran smoothly. The food was well-prepared, flavourful, and nicely presented. You can tell they put effort into both the taste and the small details. The atmosphere was comfortable and welcoming-perfect for a relaxed meal or a casual celebration. While there's still a bit of room for improvement to reach a full five-star experience, the quality and consistency definitely stood out. I'd happily come back again and recommend it to anyone looking for a solid, satisfying dining experience.

BEST IN NAIROBI I first visited in May 2025, and after returning again in October 2025, I can confidently say the quality, consistency, and value have remained exceptional. It’s one of those rare places where every visit reminds you why you keep coming back. What makes Mondo Grill stand out is its unbeatable value for money. You get the biggest portions, the best-tasting food, and the lowest prices in the area — a rare combination. You’ll always walk away saying, “that was a lot of food.” The dishes come beautifully presented on wooden plateware, with special bowls for sauces and sides that make every meal feel thoughtfully served. Another highlight is the owner’s personal touch. He goes out of his way to greet customers and make sure everyone is taken care of. That warm hospitality, paired with the consistent quality, creates a truly stress-free dining experience — you can just relax, eat well, and know you’re getting excellent food and service every time. ⸻ Friday Night • Beef Biryani – 500 KSh • Chicken Biryani – 500 KSh • Pineapple Juice – 200 KSh • Water – 100 KSh The juice is freshly made, and the biryani portions are generous — easily among the best in the city. The rice is fragrant and flavorful, and the sauces (always ask for them!) perfectly complement the meal. Everything came out in about 13 minutes, piping hot and well-presented. ⸻ Saturday Night • Beef Pilau – 450 KSh • Chicken Pilau – 450 KSh • Mango Juice – 200 KSh Service was quick, with a 20-minute wait, and the food arrived hot and perfectly seasoned. The pilau dishes were hearty and satisfying, with rich spice and tender meat. The place was clean and comfortable, and I appreciated that there were no bugs — a small but important detail when dining outdoors. I also tried the Shawarma (350 KSh) on a later visit, which was served within 9 minutes. Juicy, flavorful, and filling — it’s a great grab-and-go option that still feels fresh and well-made. ⸻ Sunday Morning For Breakfast , I had: • Maharage ya Nazi (Coconut Beans) – 200 KSh • Chapati – 50 KSh each • Mahamri (Mandazi) – 100 KSh for 4 • Chicken Sausages – 100 KSh Everything was ready in under 15 minutes. The coconut beans were creamy and comforting, the chapatis soft and flaky, and the mahamri perfectly fried with just the right sweetness. ⸻ Thursday Night • Chicken Mushroom Pizza – 950 KSh This one took a bit longer — about 25 minutes — but it was worth every second. The crust was crisp, the toppings fresh, and the flavor rich and satisfying. ⸻ In summary, Mondo Grill is that rare gem that combines big portions, consistent flavor, fair prices, and genuine hospitality. Whether you’re stopping in for biryani, pilau, or a pizza night, you’ll always get a full meal, great service, and the feeling that you’ve found your go-to spot in Nairobi.
