  The museum contains very important and highly interesting artifacts and therefore deserves to be maintained better. At present it gives the appearance that nothing at the permanent collection was curated or maintained for decades. Part of the facilities of the Art collection are used as a commercial art gallery which is absolutely out of place. Washrooms are literally disgusting. Very petty to see the National Museum of Kenya in such a poor condition. Hopefully it will receive a management that will do something about it.

  It was a nice experience. Anyone looking forward to learn about the history of Kenya and all it's tribe, their way of living and also the animals found in the Kenyan jungle should visit the National Museum.

  A Must-Visit Heritage Hub in Nairobi The Nairobi National Museum is a fantastic place to dive into Kenya’s rich history, diverse culture, and natural heritage all in one spot. I was captivated by the "Cradle of Humankind" exhibit featuring ancient hominid fossils and the stunning collection of East African birds. Don't miss the life-sized model of the legendary elephant "Ahmed" in the courtyard and the beautiful contemporary African art gallery upstairs. The museum grounds are peaceful, and the adjacent Snake Park is a fun, thrilling add-on for animal lovers. It’s an educational and eye-opening experience that perfectly introduces you to the spirit of Kenya!

  National Museum of Kenya Nairobi is an interesting place to visit if one is in Nairobi. It tells the developmental and political history of the country, and gives an insight into the present population distribution. It is also a place to learn a lot about the zoogeography of the country as models of the various animal species are preserved at the museum. There's also a small zoo within the compound where a few life animals are showcased. The gate fee is about 1500 Kenyan shillings into the museum for foreigners. I'm not going to upload models as I'm not sure if this is allowed

  Nice variety of things to see. It’s probably not the most modern of museums but certainly worth a visit. The lighting is not that great in many places, so make sure to take your best glasses if you want to see everything. Buying a ticket is also a bit of a mission, but probably understandable in the drive to do everything through “e-citizen”. On the other hand, the card machine in the shop was not working, so I was not able to purchase a souvenir.
