  We had a fabulous time at Porini Lion Camp. We were 4 adults who stayed for 3 nights in a family tent. The tent was very large. The bathrooms were spacious and fantastic as far as glamping bathrooms go. There are flush toilets and running water. However , drinking water (even for brushing your teeth) is supplied in separate bottles. Showers are bucket showers, which were the perfect temp and available whenever you wanted, with a little preplanning. I will say that at least one lighti in the tent could have been brighter, preferably one in the bathroom and one in main room area. The food, while way too plentiful, was great. The nightly soups were always delicious and hot. The buffet style lunches offered something for everyone. The bush breakfasts had some of the most delicious beans I have ever had. The chef was kind enough to share his recipe so hopefully I can recreate at home. The staff was extremely attentive. A young man, Anthony (I believe he was an intern) was always around to identify wildlife. His vast knowledge was amazing. The game drive guides were super knowledge, both about the fauna and where to best spot all the things you hope to see on safari. Our experience was unforgettable and we will be visiting more Porini camps.

  5* all around. Bill and Dan were the best guides and our drives far exceeded expectations. The camp took care of us and taught us about the culture and the area. Wish I could do 6*

  One really can not complain about anything. The service is personal and attentive. Everyone knows you by name and knows how you like things. The game drives are excellent, where we look at all the animals up close and personal. I5 is done such that we are unhurried and all the excitement of looking at them is unbridled. The warm and delicious food were a daily highlight. This and the constant sitting made for an expanding girth! A body fit for wild game! I also visited the Porini Rhino Camp! same excellent service. Perhaps, the only blip is the 25l shower which required more thinking than usual and not a little bit of anxiety!

  Friendly staff, great "tent" cabins with indoor shower and toilet. Great views of the watering hole. Great for birding as the folks that I was with saw 81 unique birds in two days. The cats are difficult to spot, however we came across two sets of two males and a lioness with three cubs. Higher probability of spotting the lions at dawn and dusk. Lots of elephants, gazelle, Impala, zebras and giraffes. No Leppard or cheatas spotted this try. If your are a serious photographer make sure the driver understands what you are looking for and how to position the vehicle to get shots. Some areas of the Conservancy are closed to vehicles off road. Sundowner is a drink and snacks out on the plains.

  Spent a weekend at the camp and can't say enough good things about their operation. Fantastic people, very friendly and helpful. The game drives were amazing, very skilled and knowledgeable people. The camp was small enough to keep it comfortable, the accommodations were excellent and their chef was great. I will return again.
