Hidden gem along the busy General Mathenge Road! Don’t be misled by the name — it may sound like a kibanda, but the flavours here are truly authentic, straight from Mombasa. The place is spacious, clean, and well-maintained, with a welcoming owner and friendly waitstaff, reasonably priced too. We were served four varieties of chutney — a Mombasa specialty — and they were spot on! The food arrived quickly and tasted absolutely amazing. If you’ve got a love for Mombasa-style cuisine, this spot is a must-try!

As someone who was born and raised in Mombasa, it's so refreshing to have a true authentic taste of the coast here in Nairobi. I have eaten at the restaurant and ordered via Uber Eats. The absolute standout dishes for me are the mahamri, daal bhagia and soft potatoes.... 10/10 in flavour! They were also very helpful and patient when i called for assistance ordering via Uber Eats. FYI Mikes cafe also have their own rider who delivers. Thank you for the wonderful food, so nostalgic 😊

I had visited this restaurant a few times and let me tell you their service is terrible. One of the main issues was the unprofessional behavior of the manager. I found them to lack basic customer service etiquette, which made the experience uncomfortable. When I raised my concerns about why no one has taken my order,the manager was dismissive and decided to tell me they are too busy. When will you be able to take my order? He replies, I don’t know we are too busy right now. hope that Mikes Cafe takes this feedback seriously, particularly regarding their management and customer service. Unfortunately, this experience has left me hesitant to return.
